Dumb dumbs at the range

What do you guys do when you're next to a group of guys (cholos/gangster wannabies) who looks as though they've never shot a gun before and they, of course, rented the highest caliber handgun they can find and do not know how to properly hold it, check it, or fire it.

Happened the other day with me when I took my friend to the range for his first time shooting a gun. The guys next to us were all laughing, recording, horseplaying with their Ruger 44 mag revolver. For some reason I guess they didn't load one in and they had one empty chamber the dude basically was waving the gun side to side to see what was wrong while simultaneously jerking the trigger evidently shooting at the ground 5 yards in front of us.

I do that too, but not when you fire a 44 mag on the ground then laugh and call each other wimps while smacking each other on the shoulder. The guys to the left of us looked like they never shot a gun before and they were doing something these guys weren't, respecting the gun.

Well I would have just chuckled and kept doing my thing. That small "harms way" feeling makes it more fun for me.

Leave if it scares you bro. Or cinch em up and live your life. Theres worse ways to go then being accidentally shot. The odds against it are pretty high anyway. Granted the odds go up slightly every now and then lol.

you tell the range officer what's up before someone gets shot and you feel guilty that you didn't tell the range officer. EVEN IF THEY ARE EMPLOYEES OR LAW ENFORCEMENT.

why?

1. I seen an idiot employee in vacaville grab a Ruger MRK 111 behind him on the rental wall and twirl it like a cowboy. The customer was like, "Is it safe to do that?" and the employee was like, "Oh, it's just my thing". Me and my brother looked at each other and gave each other disgusted looks. My brother told the people upstairs and now i think that guy got fired.

2. Even if it is law enforcement or a range employee playing around with guns, you MUST report it to an official or someone of authority or tell them yourself about safety. I've seen a dumb SFPD cop at big 5 hold a pump shotgun with the barrel pointed at the employee and at me with his finger on the trigger. He did not even to rack the pump to safety check it and the safety was off (it was a mossberg). I said, "whoa whoa, careful where you point that thing." he said ,"i'm a cop". i said, "the safety is off, you haven't checked if a round is chambered and your fackin finger is on the trigger" he looked at me all pissed and was inspecting the shotgun where to release the pump. ALSO - hasn't everyone seen that black FBI agent on youtube in the classroom who shot his foot?!?!

My serious opinion is: the obvious . Leave and come back. But I will say, if I didn't learn to accept that there will always be at least one dip**** at the range and get over it, I'd never get to shoot my AR.

i don't mean to be mr safety here, but if you see someone who doesn't know how to handle his/hers firearms or how to put it back into battery, TELL THEM THEY NEED TO GO GET HELP.

I see so many idiots at ranges who crowd around a semi auto pondering how the gun double fed or jammed. 3 words: TAP RACK BANG. iF that doesn't work, take the mag out, rack the slide simutaneously, inspect the chamber, and reassess blah blah blah
