Seeking advice on unlicensed loaded carry

My co worker just told me that she bought a gun and was being forced to carry it by her boyfriend. I asked her for details since she is a good friend of mine and I didn't want her to get into any legal troubles. Apparently her boyfriend is LEO and the gun in question is his. I advised my friend not to do it since she does not have a CCW permit. I just wanted to make sure I gave her correct advice. Any peace officers that can chime in would be greatly appreciated. Please no LEO bashing, thank you in advance.

I would assume that she'd be fine with it, and unless she did something hard core, I doubt she'd even get pulled over in his town.

Did she buy the gun or is the gun her boyfriend's?

what she is doing is illegal and I would have to recommend that she does not break the law. That said, if caught, I highly doubt that she would be cited unless she was caught by DFG

            It belongs to the boyfriend.

Thanks for all the great input. Wow, I guess I was wrong. I was just concerned that if she was caught with it might jeopardize her RN license...

Why wouldnt it? If the cops look the other way, yeah I guess not, but if she gets hooked up for carrying without a permit, I imagine 'my boyfriend told me too' is not going to fly in front of a judge. It might implicate and impact his career too.

Do you think you can get or keep or nursing job on probation for a weapons charge? Of course more power to her if she can get away with it. I wish the police would 'look the other way' for my wife, mother and sister.... We live in a corrupt and foul state.

This was/is my logic! I completely agree, it wouldn't fly for my wife or for me...

Well like I said, more power to her if she can get away with it. It may put her (and him) in a sticky spot if she has to use it. I mean I assume the guy is just a beat/patrol cop and its not even his wife... Is he going to arm every person he is related to? He cant swing any influence to get her a permit? Maybe I should make more cop friends. All the LE guys I know have this aversion to breaking the law....

Wow, a lot of bad advice in this thread. It's illegal. Penal Code does not have an "unless your boyfriend told you to do it" exception.
