BLM land is run by the Bureau of Land Management, and has different rules than other places in CA. Tribal lands owned by Indian Tribes also have different rules than what you find in other places in CA.

Masternoob you cannot carry a loaded rifle or shotgun in public unless you are at a range or blm land.The only way to carry a loaded firearm in public is by having a CCW and you have to be 21 and show good cause to obtain one.Even if you have a CCW there are restrictions of where you can carry it.If you walk down the street with a shotgun in open view you are going to cause trouble and you really don't want the attention drawn to you.Learn karate or boxing to defend yourself but gun is not the answer that you are looking for.
