    AR15DEPOT.COM REVIEWS???

    First off, I would never own one. If I need an Upper Receiver I will just build one, this is not a request for DIY help, not judging or reviewing other stuff

    But I once had a friend who wanted ''a good deal''..... omg so he got him self an $330 (The ar15depot.com brand uppers msrp: $450) upper at a gun show... with all the glitter and no gold......

    We still have it, lets it stand as a reminder; you do get what you pay for.

    I just want to see if you all have an opinion of this feller and his product......
    Have you spoke with him, I have it was funny.... very intertaining answers and marketing lines....

    systems,

    I saw them at the last Costa mesa show and took a look at there products. Just like on there website they had some pretty trick items that looks promising. I did feel they need to concentrate on more conventional uppers as I felt they're variety was slim at best. Anyway there prices were pretty good but not spectacular. They appear to be the new kids on the block coming up as a small company trying to enter the AR market.

      They are no better or worst than any other store. Your buddy paid $330 for a product that cost a manufacture less to assemble. It cost Colt, BCM, LMT and any other manufacture like $50-$100 to make an upper. I can buy 10,000 upper receivers for $25,000. I can buy 10,000 Barrel kits for $8,000. I can buy 10,000 Barrels for $75,000 - $100,000.

      I can have the alloy coated or treated for pennies each...

      I can assemble an upper in less than 1 hour. I can assemble 12 to 14 a one day...by myself.

      So for $100,000-$200,000, I have an inventory of 10,000 uppers worth $3,000,000 ...and thats if I sell them for $300.00.

      The barrels are standard 4140CM weapons grade steel...the same barrel steel used in 99% of every firearm you ever owned...Springfield, Browning, Sig, Ruger, Savage, S&W, Kalashnikov, H&K, Walther, blah blah blah and I am not going to even mention all the AR15 only manufacturers. The uppers are standard 7076TX alloy, the kits are 6061TX alloy...as are 99% of all AR15s. The roll marks will be the same as 99% of every other AR15...A, Keyhole, Square, Cardinal, blah blah blah

      You can teach a money to PROPERLY assemble one ... yeah some guys screw them up from time to time...it happens even at the name brand manufacturers...assembly is a boring job.

      I have never talked with him, I have seen / used some of their assemblies. I had no issues with the gear.

      I laugh when I see a builder list their uppers as "commercial grade" and "Goes on any commercial lower bushmaster, DPMS, Olympic Arms, Stag, S&W, etc..."....and "they need a special pin to attach to a Colt lower"...That tells me this person is completely clueless, Knows ZERO about modern AR15s, Has no current inventory, yet I bet the uppers he sells are fine. You don't need to be an expert to assemble an AR15 upper...you just look like an idiot when you don't understand them.

        The owner claims;
        Barrels built by his company, sales to colt/dpms; negative no way.
        fall back; claims he is provider of barrels for JD; maybe true they not so great or what ever.

        Those AR15 Depot Assemblies can be built by the average consumer for about $250, if you know were to buy your parts;
        I have been offered those barrels for $70
        The uppers look like Brass Aluminum, maybe finshed by JD, real rough looking. Been offered simmilar for $40, BCG'S you can assemble your self roughly $65-70, the rest is all chinese / korean junk; tubes, block, muzzel, ect.

        My bro's AR15DEPOT upper failed.
        My findings;
        Port on/in block way off center, looks like home drilled wierd.
        Ejector just does not function,
        Barrels has flakes of steel falling out?
        CRAZY rust in chamber,
        Ran a cloth/bor brush to test the twist feel its depth, the effen thing never spun, just came out straight, you ca hardley see the riffling but its there.

        I didnt bother fixing any of it

        told my bro get a refund, he called the guy, got bs. I called the guy; he told us never buy from him again, we were initially polite and not complaining just giving him an FYI, asking what his plan of action would be;

        response was denial, lies and hostile.D*CK! BUYER BEWAER.

        Theres is a reason this guy does not post on Calguns, have a banner, supprt the site or anything like that; its junk.

        I know not to long ago he would sale survalince cammeras and ''spy'' junk at gun shows, one day he showed up with uppers and became another one of those vendors.

                That seems like a valid point. But so many of these gun show vendors are volutures selling uppers made of real low grade imported parts. They lie to the consumers... sad.

                I see these guys as voltures, not gun lovers or vendors sellling a fair product just voltures jumping on the band wagin taking advantage of people who dont know any better...

                This company is one of those.... the lies this guy told me were insaine...

                thnx again.

                          I bought an upper from them at a show in Ventura last year, I took it to the range and it wasn't cycling at all.

                          I called Rick told him the problem and he took care of it no questions asked.

                          It turned out to be a problem with the gas tube.

                          I've shot 2-3k rounds through it with no other problems.

                          Overall, I'm happy with it. The quality and the price were descent for what I received.

                            I did a little internet crusing tonight and noticed there pic of the various parts they sell look very simular to DP Arms. If you look them up they appear to sell stuff made/marketed for "Sons of Guns" show. Look at the pics and tell me those pics look very simular.
