    **Your Top 5 Handguns?**

I thought I would start this thread as I didn't see one when performing a search.

#1. Colt Python: This is a tack driver like nothing else I've ever shot, smoothest factory trigger of any gun I've ever shot as well. Beautiful lines, the Python will be a classic forever, and for good reason.

#2. Sig Sauer P220: I liked this gun from the start, but when I did a back-to-back test with the Kimber, I quickly realized, it was more accurate and just a much of a blast to shoot. Made in W. Germany and it shows.

#3. Kimber 1911 Target: Great gun, very accurate, fun to shoot and just plain bad looking.

#4. CZ 75 SP-01: This gun has incorporated many things form the past and somethings that just make sense, it's a DA/SA that can be carried cocked & locked. Shoots straight as an arrow and is under priced compared to weapons of this grade.

#5. Browning High Power 9mm: Pretty nice gun, started the high-cap concept in 1934 (hence the name high-power). No other gun fits me as well. I was hoping this would've placed higher, but is not as accurate as any of the guns above. If this weapon came with a bette trigger and shot as well as the others it would've placed much higher.

Honorable Mention: Glock (pick a model). This is IMO the ultimate duty/combat gun, reliable, extremely easy to clean and maintain, and rugged.

Please feel free to list your Top 5. (This isn't a contest and everyone is entitled to their favorites). Support comments are greatly appreciated as well.

    All the best,

                  1. Sig p226; accurate as hell, great trigger, full-metal construction, DA/SA trigger SEALs use it
                  2. Kimber 1911; or any good 1911 for that matter, it's just that the Kimber happened to be the best one I've handled (among SA, Sig, and RIA)
                  3. FN Five-Seven; great cartridge with no recoil, FN is a great brand
                  4. CZ-75 Sp-01; great deal, basically on par with a 226
                  5. Ruger GP-100; most solid frame on a .357 revolver, trigger is lacking but is easily fixed with a Wolff spring kit, chose .357 over .44 purely for the ability to use .38 sp for practice

Everyone who has participated has the 1911 as one of their Top 5. Very nice.

I like the showing of the Beretta 92 by Rimfire78 (which may be my next purchase) and the FN by SFgaints105, which I have never followed, but sounds like it's worth taking a look at. I also liked that you picked the Ruger GP-100. I had a SP101 back in the day, and purchased as my back up weapon only to find my department won't let us carry Rugers and like a dummy I sold it, regrets, regrets.

Fewer people are killed with all rifles each year (323 in 2011) than with shotguns (356), hammers and clubs (496), and hands and feet (728).

                        I've got an SP-101, GP-100, AND a Super Redhawk.

So I agree, you're a dummy for selling your Rugers

my favorites in no particular order:

                          1. Kimber Custom II TLE
                          2. Browning Hi-Power Mk III
                          3. S&W 686PP
                          4. Ruger 22/45 Mk III
                          5. uhm... uh... Daewoo DP-51?

Honestly I don't know what I would put as my 5th favorite. The four that I listed are ones that I really really really like.
