Easy - What I shoot most often now...

      1) Glock 21 converted to .50GI - Where else can you find a sidearm with 10 rounds of "close to" 44mag stopping power for under a $1000...?

      2) AMT 1911 7" LongSlide chambered in .30 Carbine - Accurate enough to hit a gallon milk jug at 75 yards mag after mag. Plus the fireballs and smoke from the .30 cal round moving 1600+ ftsec is just damn fun...

      3) RIA 1911 Full Tactical Rail upgraded with the 6" Match slide and bull barrel. Most accurate sidearm I've ever shot...

      4) Taurus 4" barreled 6 shot 44Mag. Can't get the Judge here - So why not reload 44mag brass with 00buck..?!?! Plus it gives you and extra round...

      5) HiPoint C9. Crappy trigger but cheap to shoot and the damn thing never fails. I'm on the hunt for the .45ACP model...

A handgun is only a tool to get you from point A to point B (that has either a long gun or a crew served weapon), or to carry concealed where open or long gun carry or is not allowed. The "best" pistol therefore depends on what you are doing & where. Here's my top 5 from smallest in size to largest.

        1) FN Baby Browning in 6.35mm & the many clones. The smallest 100% reliable no plastic parts semi auto "mouse gun" you can get. Rimfire in small pistols is not 100% reliable. Small enough to stash one with a spare mag & 50 rounds just about anywhere. Spare parts are very easy to find. High performance 6.35mm ammo put in the right place will stop or disable most attackers. Seecamp makes a 7.65mm & 9x17mm version for those who believe in "stopping" power.

        2) Glock 26 in 9mm. The smallest full power subcompact high capacity (takes all 33/31/17 & 15 round factory mags) military designed handgun chambered in the NATO standard 9mm. One of the simplest, robust, reliable & best modern handgun designs ever made.

        3) Browning High Power in 9mm. The finial refinement of JMB's classic 1911 design. The only defect is the magazine disconnect, which can be easily taken care of. Single action so can be safely modified to a very light trigger pull. All metal design, so immune to Military less lethal depolymerizing chemical warfare agents. Uses 13/15/17/20-32 round mags.

        2) Glock 17/18/19 9mm. The original lightweight high capacity (takes 33/31/17/15 round factory mags) military designed handgun chambered in the NATO standard 9mm. One of the simplest, robust, reliable & best modern handgun designs ever made.

        1) Micro UZI or MAC 11/9 in 9mm. The quintessential PDW (selective fire pistol sized weapon with attached shoulder stock) with full auto firepower if needed. The micro UZI is best due to the reliable double column double feed magazine design & mags are much cheaper. Uses 20-68 round mags/drums.

          1. My hand built Para-framed hi-cap 1911 in .45. It's exactly the way I want it 'cause I built it myself.
          2. Browning Buckmark with a red dot is everyone's favorite for accurate and easy shooting. It's my favorite too because I buy the ammo for it that everyone shoots, at least it is cheap to feed.
          3. Ruger Security Six .357 is the most versatile of all. I used to shoot a lot of revolver and put at least 30,000 rounds through one, a mix of .38s and plenty of .357 and it never complained once.
          4. Colt Mustang Pocketlite...if the 1911 is at the top of everyone's list, then a downsized one should be about as good as it gets for a pocket pistol. This one is also real popular with the ladies but I try to get them to shoot the Buckmark 'cause the ammo is cheaper.
          5. Smith 442 /642 Airweight is a classic pocket snubby and can be loaded with snake shot for hiking or regular ammo for self defence. Everyone needs at least one snubby!

Note the range guns are heavy and the carry guns are lightweights.

By far my most accurate handgun is the Nighthawk Predator, so that is first. After that is the Kimber Stainless TLE/RL II. Then comes the XD 45, and bringing up the rear is a Glock 17.

Then only one I would not buy again is the Glock 17. Unreliable and inaccurate.
