They see low IQ individuals who are able to create brand new firearms that are more powerful than anything ever seen previously, then the anti's fears are proven valid as SonsofGuns employees over dramatize the firepower of every 'creation' they handle by adding hidden explosives or hidden cans of gasoline to make amazing explosions.

Now think about the opinion of this open minded anti gunner.....

          Yeah, television just proved:
*Idiots can build incredibly powerful weapons.
*No special tooling or equipment are required to build incredibly powerful weapons.
          *Every gun causes massive explosions.

          The predictable results:
          *Stronger fear of guns.
*More regulations to prevent home builds (AR from parts, AK builds, 80% builds)
*More regulations to prevent/control firearms on public lands.
*More regulation of shooting ranges due to the high explosives problem.

No, SonsofGuns is not good for us, it is actually a better tool for the Brady Campaign.
Valid points. I started out watching it as a total n00b not knowing anything about what they do (ok, still don't), and you can definitely see it getting faker and more scripted by the minute. It seems like the only people who actually know what they're doing are Vince and Joe. Everything else is pure theatrics (and terrible at that, subscribing to the Michael Bay model: "more 'splosions!!!!!").

Add another vote to the Steph (Hayden) ain't so pretty column. I think the mere fact that she's a girl who knows guns is a huge part of the attraction, if not the sole factor...my opinion.

Although, I have to give her some credit for her recent "girl's line" initiative. She has some good ideas about getting women involved. It's amazing how just offering a gun in a different color (even white) will catch a woman's eye, we're funny aesthetically-driven creatures like that. Plus actually designing a weapon that is more suited to our anatomy and tolerances (recoil) does wonders.

"During a routine inspection by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) in 2009, Red Jacket could not account for ten registered guns. In a settlement, William Hayden and Stephanie Hayden surrendered their gun-making licenses and were allowed to choose a licensed individual to control Red Jacket. Initially, that person was Vincent Buckles, but Buckles has left the company and now two other individuals control the company."

They both suck, moonshiners is way better.

Steph is definitely not hot, well maybe if you were 70 years old she would be considered hot, but at that point what 25 year old isn't.

Okay if you want to see a real manufacturing facility have Discovery come here. We don't make cannons or blow crap up. We just machine AR parts and assemble guns.

We don't have an underage daughter or any females working here (actually we have one of the owners daughters but she works at night cleaning up part time) and it would be boring to watch I am sure.

However you would see one of the owners cuss people out for miss-spelling a trade name on a batch of 50 lowers, or making 200 plate A's but 176 plate B's, or some other stupid thing that happens in real reality.

Havent read the entire thread but, I think I saw that episode. Its my first actually. They made firearm enthusist looks like idiots. Saw the one where two guys were going to do a draw shooting contest, at one point one guy pointed a revolver at the other doods head while talking to that chick who shot a DE that became a 9mm....

Then the last part show'ed a guy drawing an AR acting like its a headache to put together one.......I think us Calguns can make better video's then that!

Lets make one! I have the equipment to! lol.

And your show would be about as exciting and draw as much audience as a show about real bikers or traffic signal techs, where the biggest drama in their lives is Del Taco or Carl's

This "I am better than them because of x" is tired. It's entertainment. The cast is chosen for there marketability, the events chosen for there content, the items chosen for there diversity.

It's the #2 show on cable Wednesday - beating out conan, the daily show or colbert report and any other show that caters to a much wider audience.

2.6 million viewers every Wednesday .

I have seen a huge uptake in the firearms industry and it directly correlates to the show, even very conservative reps have told me as a sidebar they are feverishly trying to get there wares on to the show just based on there customers comments.

And with all of that Red Jacket was not born on tv, the majority of the boring day to day production facilities and staff aren't put in front of the camera. Even simple things like the staggering amount of paperwork required for most of these weapons is buried as much as possible.

Most of the audience wants to see guns, explosions and t&a - and they are delivering.

If you feel you can deliver more engaging TV, please show us what you have got. HD video equipment is low cost and you tube as a delivery medium is free.

FPS Nathan - go get em.
