I have to go with the M2 as well. Nothing I've ever heard makes that meaty CHA-CHUNK sound. And then firing it....

I use to use a little headspace gage to check them all before gettiung underway in the coast guard. I could up on the bridge wings and screw around with them while I function checked them with dummy rounds.

The boat was docked right on Hwy 101 in Oregon, and one time the police called us because people in their cars were concerned that the guns were sweeping the freeway... We had a laugh about that one (I didnt really think to hard about at the time, even the cops thought it was funny) and only function checked them on the water side after that...

the Garand id say for an "empty" sound - everytime a Garand Pings - an enemy gets a dirt nap

my favorite are the guns in the movies that making an intense *click-clack* sound whenever they point it at someone.

but i love the sound of my mini 14 when i chamber the first round off a fresh mag

Especially when they're olding a striker fired pistol (usually a Glock)
