To my understanding Code Enforcement came down hard on them. I talked to Bills wife about a week and a half ago and she was elling me they had to pay some fines for ridiculous amounts. At that time, she was unsure what would happen. If the could keep the property or not. Then the last week I was at Warrior One in Riverside and some guys there were talking to Norris (one of the owners) about how it was shut down and something might happen to the BLM area out there. This is all hear say and not really confirmed. I may go out there tomorrow and see whats up and worst case, I'm gonna go scope out an area in Hemet.

That sucks to hear. I am from Hemet. I had no idea just showed up and read the sign. There were allot of ding dongs shooting all over in all directions in the hills next to maywood. I always thought it was random how he was able to have an unsupervised range on his property. Well wonder what the heck will happen. Hope he can open back up. You can't beat the price for a place to shoot.

Seems odd, it's on private property and he has legal documents you sign. Wonder what code enforcement was able to fine them for. Wonder who complained as well. Place is usually empty for most hours.

Next time I see my brother in law I will ask. He works for Code Enforcement in Riverside County.

Cool. Would be great to really get the correct information. I was bummed when it was shut down. I just bought my membership a few months back.

I shoot in the BLM area all the time, I've seen rangers and never had a problem, and I am member at rockpile. I was out there two weekends or so ago, and I saw four sherriffs and four unmarked cars rolling up to the property, damn near run me off the road... I thought they were serving a warrant...

                  Please keep this thread updated.

Ive never seen anyone shooting widly either. There is a fair amount of BLM lad out there with a mountin for a backstop, people shoot on both sides of it. It may give the impression of chaos. Looks like it may be time to find a new "secret spot".... I refuse to patronize a range where I cant move and shoot, or have to deal with RO's or pay a bunch of fines and fee's or sort my damn ammo, or pull the trigger once a second and on and on and on... Oh yeah, or shoot my favorite taget. Paint cans filled with water.... If you go out there before they throw us all out, make sure and bring a few big trash bags to haul all the junk away. I do it every trip and I fill up the car with garbage. I guess it was only a matter of time....

If you have a truck there's always Bee Canyon just outside of Hemet - at least during the rainy months. It's closed in the dry season. I'm 5 minutes away but it's too rough for my car.

There used to be an orange VW bus that traveled all over the roads. Stock height and nothing fancy. Ive even driven my car to shotgun flats, surely you can roll your car out there.
We should run out there sometime soon, Im over by Warren Rd on the other side from you.

What a shame. I've been shooting there the last few months and had a big trip planned on Tuesday with new Christmas guns. Can someone pm me directions for the nearby Blm land? I have a group of 8 that will be disappointed if we can't shoot.

Please don't talk about the spot near the pile. It has been extremely trashed and much more dangerous after the last thread where people where talking about it...
