Of course they will. They are! Just look at the media coverage:

"OMG! This kid said that he 'could shoot someone, I suppose...' after classmates called him VT2! And, look! There were more than a dozen guns with over a hundred rounds of ammo locked up in his house!!"

You know, this thing got blown all out of proportion because of that ONE EVIL BLACK RIFLE in the picture. When one has a *Black Rifle* and it also has a pistol grip and a detachable mag, well-- you are definitely some sort of miscreant and need to be incarcerated and evaluated.
Single issue voting and the 'lesser-of-two-evils' mentality is what got us into this mess!

This reminds me of the other thread of where the cops searched one of our fellow members for weapons for readying this site at school.

Since the kid did not have weapons accassable to him, his comment may not have happened or over exaggerated, he maybe innocent. There was some doctors in the article that had an opinion that he was violent which is merely opinon. Are they qualified to make that choice? I was accused in 1st grade of being violent for drawing NES video game characters by a Teacher's helper. My parents had to get a real expert to just clarify that i liked to draw to ensure that my record did not say i was hostle. I guess we will have to wait for the court case to see if this is "a clear and present danger".

No kidding. Hopefully, they get this kid some help.
In light of the VT shooting, the media ripped the VT police a new one for not following up with 5150 Cho Seung-Hui. PDs and schools all over California don't want to open themselves up to any liability. It's just those stupid HEPA laws that don't allow hospitals to release "medical" information to LE or schools anymore.

Growing up as a Marine brat, toy firearms were a part of everyday playtime. However from a early age I distinctly remember my father taking out his pistol one afternoon and showing it to me. He explained that REAL guns are never to be touched, and if I ever so much as breathed on his gun he would kick my a** and ground me for a year. I guess the fear of my Dad raining down the wrath of God on my little a** scared me from playing with guns.
In Jr High my Dad introduced me to firearm safety and shooting, but that childhood introduction to firearms put the fear of God in me.

We all have "arsenals" and all of our guns are considered to be "on the street." A gun in St. Peter's safe would also be considered "on the street." That's why all guns need to be gotten "off the street" even though nearly all are locked up securely in peaceable citizens' homes.
