Gun under pillow

Sleeping with a gun under a pillow sounds like an easy way to have a ND. On or in a nightstand would leave it just as available.

I sleep with my Kimber in it's paddle holster with the holster tucked into the carry handle of the mattress right by my head and a 2 mag holster sandwiched in between the mattres and boxspring next to it.

That's why, even on the night stand, you should have it in a holster, even one of those small, cover the trigger guard type holsters.

half the time I wake up and I have no idea where my pillow is and my girlfriend is on the floor.

Never a gun under the pillow. However, a long, long, time ago I got used to sleeping with an M16. Ah, the good old days… or not!

Nope, used to sleep with it on top of the nightstand holstered, but thought the better of it when I had a dream and launched my glasses that were sitting there across the room... Not its in the night stand drawer in a holster. Put it in the safe in the morning get it out when I get home...

Electronic safe bolted inside the nightstand is close enough. Open when I am home, locked while I am away.
Under the pillow is only a good idea in the movies.
