thats pretty cool, i think he was shooting a projectile because he claims the barrel actually swelled and im thinking the pressure from a projectile would be the only way enough pressure in a half inch tube could swell an inch and a quarter of metal....

Its easy to make. As he posted it is just a 2" steel cylinder bored out .5" with the handles welded on. Very easy to make with the proper tools. Just use a .5" ball and muzzle load it.

I want that ring of fire.

If I build it, who volunteers to shoot it?

Now who volunteers to stand down range and film the fire ring from the muzzle side?

I'll write the release for you, Tweak...

"I am fully aware that in all likelihood this firearm/canon will explode catastrophically, killing me and anyone dumb enough to be within 100 yards of me. I will not hold anyone responsible for my monumentally stupid choice to test-fire said cannon. Should I die I will have my epitaph engraved with an image of the cannon, a + sign below it, "Tweak" below that, followed by an equal sign beneath that and finally an arrow pointing toward my grave."

The velocity of our projectile is actually very slow. Its a .50 cal lead ball. We fill the barrel with so much powder that the ball sits about an inch from the end of the barrel. All the ball does is act as a plug to keep the powder from coming out the end. The ring you see is the shock wave of the explosion breaking the sound barrier. The fire disappears but the ring keeps traveling. The lead ball probably only goes about 20 yards and is going very slow.

No new footage will be posted until a new cannon can be made because the barrel started to swell/bulge/expand. The next cannon will be made with a harder alloy or thicker side wall. This cannon is 2 inches in diameter with a .5 inch hole bored into it. It has a fuse hole in the side and is about 1 foot in length. The handles are some steel tube welded on the barrel. The results were beyond expectations.
Here is some information on it from the comment section on YouTube.

This looks pretty cool as well.

Bet you their not firing this puppy in cali. Probably in Arizona.

Look at the tyranny of party -- at what is called party allegiance, party loyalty -- a snare invented by designing men for selfish purposes -- and which turns voters into chattles, slaves, rabbits, and all the while their masters, and they themselves are shouting rubbish about liberty, independence, freedom of opinion, freedom of speech, honestly unconscious of the fantastic contradiction...
