How the eff did this turn into a race, hilbilly, sexest, sexual discrimination thread? It is simply a bunch of folks that have no clue about CA other than what they see or hear on tv or internet(there is plenty out there against us)!
I can't blame them. Put the shoe on the other foot and forget what you have learned about CA. These folks do not live here and have no clue what we are up against. They do not live in restricted states and that is NORMAL to them. They see us as restricted(WE ARE) they are not so much.
Best you can do is try to educate them...may be tough if not impossible. So be it. That does not make these folks bad...or worse.

What we need is for a nationally known pro-gun organization (NRA?) to give a statement about how everyone should support every gun enthusiast everywhere, and explaining why discriminating against a person because of his location, race, religion, gender, sexual preference, etc, etc is going against the cause.

A lot of us educate those sellers on a regular basis.

Blaming the media or TV is way too easy. There is plenty of information out there. They just want to keep believing their FUD because they think in their little minds that they're sticking it to Nancy Pelosi. They're petty and ignorant. No sympathy for them.

I wanted to buy a shotgun (an 870) from a guy in NV a few years back. It was the same story. I offered to meet him at an FFL, it was still a no go.

At this point it is clear to me that this guy simply fails to comprehend. Better yet, I should just send him a link to this thread.
It would seem that you are the one who fails to comprehend. He told you quite clearly that he doesn't care and doesn't want to be bothered with you or CA gun laws. Why can't you just accept that and move on?
"Did I say "republic?" By God, yes, I said "republic!" Long live the glorious republic of the United States of America. Damn democracy. It is a fraudulent term used, often by ignorant persons but no less often by intellectual fakers, to describe an infamous mixture of socialism, miscegenation, graft, confiscation of property and denial of personal rights to individuals whose virtuous principles make them offensive." - Westbrook Pegler

Microwave, thank you for the link, and yeah that is a bunch of BS for an out of state dealer to have to get permission from "Der State" to ship to another dealer. Me being the way i am would do it just to rile the system, nothing i like better than prodding the bear with a pointed stick so to speak,,, I suppose once the dealer has signed up for it and uses it he will become used to doing it, but its just one more step the politico's have put in place to inconvenience folks.

I'm not saying these sellers are right, but put yourself in their shoes.

Let's say a buyer from Canada wanted to purchase a firearm (or firearm parts) from you. Would you go through the work of finding out what was legal and what was not and what is allowed under ITAR regulations?

Or would you take the easy route and just sell the item locally?

I do not do international sales of anything for this reason. I simply don't want to bother with it, even if I could make more money.
www.tenpercentfirearms.com was open from 2005 until 2018. I now own Westside Arms.

Depends on whether I got in business to make as much as possible, or if it was something to pass the time...

This is exactly what I am saying. Do you expect an individule to know the ins and outs of CA laws(hell most of us in this state don't, or at least are not as up to date on them)!
If you think they are sticking it to Pelosi by not selling guns to CA.....just WOW!
I could see that statement if you are refering to a business....only somewhat though.
If it is towards a private party.....I just don't get that.

That is your choice and I very much respect it.
Why is it that folks can't understand that from state to state transactions?

I agree with others, vote with your wallet! (I do prefer to purchase localy if I can as much as I can). I start with my city/county/state...in that order.
