Another "will sell nothing to CA" thread..

I am so appalled at the ignorance of some people! To make matters worse, this is a private person (non-FFL).

    Do "these" people realize..

    1) I (the gun lover) voted against any politician that was against "our" rights.

    2) I am not responsible for the stupid laws in my state.

    3) I am the minority here (for the moment) and I am being shunned.

    4) Once guys like me are completely defeated here in CA.. The gun-haters will then divert their attention to other areas which are now considered safe..

    5) By not selling/buying from CA residents, even though the item is legal, they are helping gun-grabbers.

    6) They are likely loosing money..

It all started when I read the following

JohnSmith (name made up): I do not ship anything to CA!

Fredieusa: How can you be pro gun, when you deny the pro-gun people in CA ?? You are actually helping the gun-grabbers. This gun is legal there (by simply unscrewing the grip and shipping unattached to the long gun) but I guess you have something against the "good" people in CA. Keep doing what you are doing, you are only helping people you do not like. Its not too late to get smart, think a little.

JohnSmith: I do not care about California and also do not care what kind of officials you people elect into office to pass your extreme gun laws
At this point it is clear to me that this guy simply fails to comprehend. Better yet, I should just send him a link to this thread.

Does it take a genius to figure out that the guy pleading to buy your evil gun is most definitely NOT the one responsible for the stupid laws?

    Rant over..

No big deal, ignorance is rampant with many that buy and sell on the internet. Do the state a favor, spend your money here and keep it here. There are plenty of good deals in California. Don't bother with the link to the seller, he clearly doesn't care and the gun you wanted is probably sold by now anyway.

This is just another example of the rest of the country's view on Californians. I have many friends out of state that can't believe what goes on here, from our political structure, the laws that are passed, and especially gun control laws. Friends of mine that live in Georgia, say they would never let their state legislate the type of laws we have here. Many people view Cali as nothing but a bunch of tofu eating, hybrid car driving, liberals. Even though you might or might not be doesn't matter, just being associated with this state puts a sour taste in many dealers mouths when it comes to not just firearms but any weapons. Our image nationally is pretty sad, and I have had the same experiences as you............I know it sux

I'm trying to imagine what it would be like if when some people from Alabama, Utah, Tennessee or Pennsylvania showed up in my tasting room, I refused to sell them wine because their states have such stupid alcohol-related laws. I'm sure that would go over real well.

Forget those idiots. I send email regularly to Gunbroker sellers who have "No shipping to California" mentions even though the item or firearm is perfectly legal. Some reply sheepishly, telling me they will sell to me after all. Others don't bother replying. Some even reply with insults, and you know that those are people you don't want to deal with in the first place.

I sent a guy selling a gun off gunbroker a lengthy letter very similar to yours. I realize no matter what you say to them, their stupidity compounds on itself. If people like realized their mistakes, it means theyre smart enough that the problem wouldn't exist in the first place.

I am sure you would be wasting good wine anyway on people that wouldn't know the difference

You wanna piss off a liberal? Sell a gun to a Californian.

It is hard for people to argue against that one.

People out of state hate us.

My brothers long-term girlfriend (going on 5 years now) is from West Virgina, as are her parents. They hate us, really, they do.

you spying on me... lol you are correct. its ending in a little over 2 hours. But to hell with it. It would have been a triplicate anyway. I already have two in new condition of the same make/model. Yea, I have the collection disease and that seller lost out on $$.. go figure.
You should contact the seller and thank him for helping you save money and push you one step closer to recovery from "your disease".

I had a deal on Gunbroker go south for this very reason. I managed to pick up an XD45 along with 450 rounds to go with it, and a TLE 3 ---- all for $650 dollars.

                        Needless to say, I'm pumped.

I contact the guy and get the ball rolling. He balks that I'm in California and the gun has hi-cap mags, as well as shipping ammo to Los Angeles. Oh no!! Whatever shall be done?!

Well, a little rational thought: Send them to my brother, who doesn't live in California and I'll deal with it from there. Send the gun to my FFL in CA.

Pretty simple. But no. Having already sent the check, he decides to send it back with an email to the degree of "I won't do business with California." Period, thanks, end of discussion.

I was so furious. But nothing I could do. The only thing I could rationalize to keep from driving to Minnesota and beating him with a Nancy Pelosi poster, was that I was going to sell the XD and TLE 3 anyway, make my money back, and have 450 rounds of free .45 ammo.

Then I remembered that's what pissed me off in the first place.

I found several HK USP Compacts on GB,, emailed everyone of the sellers saying the gun was on the Cal. gun list an 100% legal here and every dang one of them stated they would not sell to a Cal resident. Dang Californias reputation sux.

Do you realize that you live in AMERICA where we have freedoms to sell goods to people we don't want to?

Do you realize freedom isn't just about you but everyone?

                            Do you?
The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

It's actually A LOT MORE complicated than that. You are not free to discriminate against a lot of groups just because you feel like it.

And this is not about freedom. It's about ignorance and stupidity.
