there is always the .700 h&h magnum. its an elephant gun cartridge that should be given to poachers, the recoil will likely make them miss, and the blunt force trauma likely will kill the poacher.Comment

.22 short and CB have their place- pest control, mainly.
.22LR vs. .25 in a pocket pistol is a wash. You're not going to see an increase in power with the .22 while using a 2" barrel. .25 by virtue of being centerfire has more reliable ignition while the cheapness of .22 allows you to practice more.
.25 and .32 S&W aren't ideal defense loads, but they're better than a rock or a sharp stick and have put many poeple in the ground. If that's all someone can handle, it's better than nothing.
Worst round of all time? Hmm.. I have no idea. Anything that goes 'bang' is a good round! If it's only good for punching paper that's fine as long as it does a good job..
My vote would be to something utterly unreliable..
