This was right next to our parking garage. When I walked out, they were trying to do CPR on the guy and had the female in handcuffs. Looks like they identified the guy and the female.

They didn't say if he had a weapon or not, just
"Investigators are not releasing information about weapons in the vehicle, citing the ongoing investigation."

I dont know the facts here but I assume a stolen car and a high speed chase are not conducive to a slap on the wrist.

car theft should not be a capital offense
. I doubt the alleged thief, upon starting the car, decided to "fly through the streets at 90 miles an hour". The police made the decision to initiate a high-speed chase, and they would be, in my eyes, equally culpable for any potential bystander fatalities resulting from that chase.

Track with helicopter, track with LoJack, track with OnStar, or don't chase. None of these will endanger any innocent bystanders. Either the car turns up, or insurance pays for it. Not as sexy as hot lead or pmita prison for the thief, but that's life.
If you're not a resident of California, please don't waste your time trying to sell handguns here. A: your handgun is not on the approved list, and can't be sold here or B: We can already get it here with less hassle.

          It takes two to tango.

Only guilty people flee from the police when the police attempt to stop them.

I believe that the failure-to-stop itself justifies the chasing of the suspect, expecially when it's a known stolen vehicle.

Because the police are always aware of exactly who and what they are dealing with and also that once the suspect gains some distance they will not hurt innocent bystanders, like by ditching the stolen car to steal another by shooting the driver.

Sorry, I disagree with you 110%. People are not entitled to my stuff unless I give it to them. All car thieves should be killed on site. In fact, I think thieves of most things should be killed on site. You don't want to die, DON'T STEAL!
