I'm thinking that car security systems need to start including a taser that electrocutes the thief when trying to start a car that has not had the security system properly disabled.
All these technologies supposedly going into smart guns could easily be applied to cars.
Thumbprint identifier on the outside of the car.
Walk up to the car, touch your thumb to the pad and the doors unlock.
Touch your finger to a "start" button on the dash and the car starts.
How simple is that?
Combine the security system with the onstar and a simple system to lock the doors and gas the thief.
Thief breaks into the car.
Attempts to start it without properly disabling the alarm.
Car doors lock.
Gas is administered to knock out the thief.
Onstar alerts the authorities.
Police arrive to a subdued thief.
How hard is that to do?
We have too many damn lawyers.
Put a touch screen on the steering wheel and the thief gets a prompt: "You have not properly dis-abled the security system.
You will be locked in the car and gassed if you attempt to start the car again"
"to continue, press start, to cancel, get out of the car"
