That cop was smooth as silk, and the UOC'er sounded like a teenager caught at a kegger. Why would you post that if that was you? What a dork. LOL

Seriously, that cop sounded like an actor or something. Respect.

Unfortunatly, these are laws we live under in this state. Honestly, if I felt compelled to carry an unloaded gun, I would do the same. I would have apologized for having to be a hard ***, but as gun owners and cops in California, thats the way it is. The entire system is adversarial. I am as polite as possible, untill Q and A time.

As long as the e-check stands, I will take the last protection the law offers, which is remain silent.

and correct me if I'm wrong, but the outside the clothing pat down is SOP for any stop, absent PC or RS. Thats the "officer saftey" search.

Well if this cop is as good as everyone say he is, he needs to hear it. Nothing better than on the job positive reinforcement. I would suggest some should make the effort to show this thread to him and his fellow officers.

Cool cop, but the detention can only last as long it takes to make sure the gun is unloaded and then he must end the detention. Once the "e" check was complete the only question or statement you should make is "am i free to leave?" if the answer is no, then any continued detention is illegal absent reasonable suspicion of another crime.
check out this site http://ratemycop.com/ and leave him some positive feedback. I know a lot of LEO who like to check this.

The amount of boot licking going on in this thread is truly amazing. Maybe the UOCer should have tap danced for "Officer Matt" too.

Does it piss you off that not many people are hating on the cop in this thread?

No....the cop did a good job, but the disdain for a guy who didn't want to give any information to the cop is quite frightening.

                                Disdain

                                1. to look upon or treat with contempt; despise; scorn.
                                2. to think unworthy of notice, response, etc.; consider beneath oneself: to disdain replying to an insult.

The people here talking crap about him are disturbing......he is not.
