Because the A2 handguard sucks, and some people don't want a full rail system. I'm one of those people...

Don't need a full rail... there's plenty of FF tubes available that will allow for short rail sections...

And then people get the MOE and then hang rails all over it.
The way I've seen some MOEs dressed out, they may as well be Yankee Hill "Soupcan" rails... at least the YH is free float.

If I was going to run anything more than a AFG then I would look into a rail system. I prefer the look of the MOE over most other systems. One exception is the KAC rail that is the barrel nut and has the front sight integrated.

No, not everyone sticks rails all over their MOE handguards. I don't have any rail sections on my MOE handguard, and locosway only appears to have 1 section.

If I were to ever get a section of rail to attach anything, it'd be one of those 2 inch pieces so I could mount a light, that's it.

As far as a freefloat tube, there's a couple problems with that. Cost(you're not going to find a drop in FF tube for $30), and the bottom of every FF tube I've seen is round. Like I said, I prefer the flat bottom of the MOE handguard.

Where's the "Magpul sights don't melt" crew at now?

In other threads people have SWORN Magpul sights won't melt, even on gas blocks.

Running them on my gas block with no issues. Over 3k rounds fired including a full tactical carbine course. Still holds zero and no melting. LGS has offered to replace them if they ever melted.

only 3000 rounds fired i think i did about 2000 that day. the sights melted around the base where it contacts the gas block. the gas block has the same center line as the upper reciever

as for magpuls products. the only reason why people buy it is because its tacticool. i see no reason for ranger plates(man up pull that mag out sissy) enhanced trigger gaurds never seen anybody who has fingers to big to fit into the stock trigger gaurd. as for windows in your mag you know when your out of ammo when your bolt dosent slam shut. i can tell a empty mag by its weight. i can go on an on i really think magpul makes all that crap because there is more mall ninjas out there then there are anything else

Alot of gas blacks these days are same height as standard rail. This is the 21st century!

wrong, I bought my front sight because it was a cheap alternative in case i have to take a shot i dont feel comfortable taking using my c-more optic or if something happens to my c more optic during a match. 20 round mags work for when i have to be able to get the rifle low to the ground and shoot under obstacles and well those ranger plates you speak of help me hold onto mags when loading unloading my rifle as i am disabled and don't have the finger strength of most people my age.

You think Magpul came up with the range plate idea? Soldiers were using "magpuls" on their mags to pull them from their vests easier. It was usually duct tape and fabric or cord, instead of a commercial rubber/polymer that Magpul now makes.

Enhanced trigger guard is nice when wearing gloves, and when you have a B.A.D. lever. Is it needed? Nah, but it's just another ergo piece that helps some people.

You think their pMags are crap too? Funny, cause they're the best mags on the market as far as I'm concerned. Sure, the window on their new mags is kinda useless, but I don't buy those anyway.

As for the rest of their products. It's quality stuff, and it works. Most of it was born from necessity, like the AFG/AFG2. You may think it's tacticool and fanboy items, but you'd be dead wrong.
