great work great service great prices

He's a master pistol smith in addition to doing rifle and shotgun work. The cool thing about Dave is he isn't afraid to tell you no.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

I left a message for Mr. Wilkerson on a Friday (he's closed) and he returned my call first thing on Monday morning, when he re-opened for business. His prices seem very fair.

I used to live near Kings and have had them doing my repair work for decades. Always happy with the results.

Frankly don't care if they move a LEO gun in front of mine. Mine are hobby pieces. Theirs are work tools.

Kings is also great for PPT. Minimum rate no BS or waiting. One of the few places that treat a PPT as a valued customer.

Do they still sell parts? I can't find an active phone number. From what I read Kings is closed.

Kings Gun Armory is open and they do take gunsmith work in currently.

Dean Wilkerson has been my gunsmith of choice for over 20 years---I don't have any problems getting him to answer the phone, but often he is busy working on guns. Dean does outstanding work and is a SUPER nice guy. Just my two cents...

Jim Hoag in Canoga Park is very, very good.

                      I agree, LEO has priority.

A gun is their work tool. Their lives depend on it.

                      We're just hobby people.

Guns are our tools for self defense MOSTLY in case of home robbery.

BUT when you're dealing every day of the week with bad people, get called to bad situations, you need your piece, as a LEO, from the start of your shift to the end.

If our gun fails, go for the other back up. So your pistol don't work. Use the shotgun.

Hobbyist are NOT called to deal with issues or bad situations on a daily basis, SEVERAL times a day.

A LEO's gun is like my stethescope. I need it EVERYDAY all day, all through the work week. Not every now and then to take a home BP for high blood pressure. I need it in the ER for lung sounds when someone has a allergic/anaphylactic reaction, Intubation, pneumonia, etc. AIRWAY = #1. I use it every day, all day.

A LEO needs his gun all day, every day, all through the day.

My only question, is that I know KINGs has gone through ownership change.

Is it still as good now as it was then?

As said earlier, I've been going there for several decades and the new owner Rob is a great guy without any attitude.

Guess you've never tried to access Jardine? Kings also isn't what it once was - doesn't mean it's bad, but people shouldn't be confused.

I know this is an old thread but I wanted to bump it again - just to let everyone here who is looking know, I called up Dean Wilkerson on Monday and he returned my call on Tuesday. He's taking orders but has a 4 month backlog.

That's probably because they have to carry their firearms daily and stand a good probability of having to use them too. And I don't mean against zombies either.
