Yes, and I commend you for all that you have done. That's more than most people do, even for active members here.

However, besides alienate cops on this board, what are you trying to accomplish here? Nobody here disagrees with you really that the roster is a bad idea, but I don't think any cop here will give up buying an off-roster gun just to stand in solidarity with you. Besides, as everyone knows, the only difference is that you can't buy one retail from a dealer, but you can buy one PPT if you find one.

I don't want to alienate anyone, but in return I don't myself want to be alienated either. I don't want a LEO to not buy a gun that works for them just because it's not on the roster. I want LEO's to have the right tools for the job. However, I also would like the system to work equally for everyone. The roster exemption for LEO's is ridiculous, especially when the roster is for "safe" guns. Either remove the roster, or stop pretending it's to keep unsafe guns out of California. We all know it's about control, and nothing more.

I don't disagree with you. The roster is crap. The AW law is crap. The magazine capacity law is crap.

I want my friends to be able to buy the Taurus 709 Slim. It's a great gun. I have one and I love it to death as my EDC and backup. I show it to them and they want it. I want them to have it, but they can't buy it. It sucks. It's like when you find something cool and you want to share it with your friends and they can't take advantage of it.

Oh, another thing... officers do not obtain a ccw based on their work. Officers are EXEMPT from 12025 and 12031 based on their 24 hour peace officer status. We don't have CCW's. We don't need them. If we applied for a CCW, we would be yelled at for wasting their time.

However, after you retire and are no longer exempt from 12025/12031, HR218 covers you in all 50 states.
Of course, if you blow it, it can be revoked.
