hmm looks like a good quick use safe. I go all around LA, SD, Bay Area and was looking for something like that. I don't think you even need to bolt, as I plan to put at least 50 extra pounds and place the safe on the second floor. It looks thick enough to stop a basic crowbar and it would be definitely noisy as hell if they try to push 120+ lbs down apt. stairs. As for professional thieves with expensive tools I would only have one thing to say to them. "what are you doing robbing a college student who's belongings (excluding guns) are cheaper put together than your equipment. Even if they rob the guns thats really like only around 4 grand in heavy metal that is not easily liquidable goods. It's not like he can sell them on EbayIt will stop the smash and grap types, if you take a few additional precautions. I have a cheap gun cabinet from Walmart. First, I bolted it to the floor, and the wall behind it. It's in a closet, so I bolted angle iron along both edges to both walls along side it. Then I put 2 deadbolts on the closet door in front of it. (I have an old house with solid wood doors.) All this including the cabinet cost less than 200 bucks.

I have a 500 pound safe that I had cutom made and delivered for under and grand. It always baffles me when I see people with $10,000.00+ gun collections sitting unlocked or in cheap safes/cabnets.
Sure a professional could still torch it.....but for what I have it wouldn't be worth his/her time......and I would love to see some crack heads try to take my loaded safe (about 800+ pounds) from and upstairs bedroom.
You can get a quality safe for about the cost of a decent firearm. I wouldn't ever want stuff I own to fall into some losers hands.Comment

Man are you wrong.
Thieves want valuable items... period.
They don't care if its cash, gold, diamonds, electronics, silverware, an urn with aunt maybells ashes in it.
They will steal anything they can get that might bring in enough cash for their next drug hit (or gambling fix, or whatever).
They are greedy little maggots that should be terminated without hesitation.Internet Talk is Cheap

Bums, druggies, and punks do steal anything they can get their hands on. Not true for pros: the rampant robberies by PROFESSIONAL thieves (so professional they have left LAPD and other LEO confused for lack of evidence) occurring right now in Beverly Hills to high-profile celebrities and dignitaries (one encouraging a lawsuit against ADT) have specifically left firearms behind, even valuable firearms that were in easy reach, but they took hard to get-at jewelry which took some work (like in a safe or was hidden - they had to dig thru stuff for it).Man are you wrong.

LOL! Nah....but you're both talking about (or so it seems) a VERY SMALL percentage of the thievin' that goes on. So while being robbed might be a low probability...the probabaility of being robbed by a NON professional is greater than being robbed by a professional
