Agreed - when you decided to buy the gun it was worth what you wanted to pay or you would not have purchased in the first place. Don't blame the gun store, do your homework. Are you sure it's the same gun, same part number, same SKU? Sometimes a simple difference such as sights could be the issue. Be happy, you bought a nice gun, enjoy it.Comment

100% this ^Thanks for clearing that up.. I will be sure to never use your shop and make sure to warn others as well.. Lots of shops out there that:
1. Wont try to screw the customer for a lock
2. Wont charge a stupid storage fee if it is there past 14 days
3. Wont act like they are doing US a favor by being in existance
So if he would have talked with you then you would have only charged him $12 for the lock next time? lol (oh, and he did contact your employee who stated the OP would be "taken care of" next time.
Again, lots of good shops out there to spend money at, why bother with your's?
I took a couple of road trips thru LA and down to San Diego over the last 30 days...Stopped at quite a few gun shops and spent a good amount of $$.
I was right down the street from this shop a couple of times and skipped it because of the the 3 points mentioned above."But far more numerous was the herd of such, Who think too little and who talk too much." -John DrydenComment

Very good summary. Hopefully they aren't still like that, but I'm through with them, personally. For those of you that still do business with them, I hope they've changed things for the better for you so that you don't go through the crap we did. Thanks for clearing that up.. tried to get an lc9 from them, asked to price match another big store in socal, they wouldnt, they said i could use the saved money for gas just to go there. lost me as a customer. mind you i told them i was ready to buy that day. they said they only make $30 bucks on the gun at 379.99. they need to get a better distributor if they are getting guns from the distributor that are more than i can get them from buds gun shop...Comment

How, how dare they refuse your offer of price matching a big box store. They are totally obligated too ya know. You should have just told them to shove it, you can get one from Buds for $340 + $100 transfer fee for a total of $440. Maybe next time they will be nice and give you that gun for cost. They totally need to make it up to you.Comment

not exactly, transfer fee for me is $60 and my usual dealer is happy with any business I bring him, transfer fee, a gun I buy from his stock, or PPT, maybe if you read my post, you would see that maybe they should try and get a new distributor if they seriously are getting it at more than $340. and is Ammo Bros really a big box store? I don't think so.How, how dare they refuse your offer of price matching a big box store. They are totally obligated too ya know. I never said they were obligated to. Just figured if they knew I was going to buy that day, that maybe they would work harder for the money. No problem though spending my money at the usual dealer of course. I wouldn't be as rude as you and tell them to shove it. I just told them thanks and left. Anyway, thanks for your very unhelpful addition to this thread. Its pretty much a waste of bandwidth.Last edited by mydogsmonkey; 11-21-2011, 10:16 PM.Comment

Meh, you made it clear enough in your first post. No need to add to your story. My sarcasm stands.Comment

Im just curious what extra charges are required by the state after that 14th day? if im not mistaken, a DROS is good for 30 days after it has been run. Am I not correct? And please, if im not, then show me EXACTLY where it says it isnt. So, when I run a DROS, then if the customer cant make it in on say the 14th day, which is only 4 days after their DROS has cleared, are you saying their DROS is no longer valid? Sounds a bit fishy to me. And the idea of charging them storage on the gun while its still in its valid waiting/pickup period would be total BS then. As for the lock, yea, you got over on customers, you know that and we all know that. A lock that costs you $2-3 dollars, that you charge that type of markup on, well, Im not even going to go into it. If a customer wants to really be a jackwad, they can go down to DOJ Firearms Division or their local PD, and pick up a lock for free with a dated notice from DOJ proving its pickup date within 30 days. Would you then try to charge them as well? As for your statement that most stores make you buy a lock, well that is pretty untrue right from get go. Between the reciept or bringing in a lock, Ive never had to purchase a lock from a gunstore in probably over 10 years. As for your strong customer base, it sounds like you have more folks who dont quite know what they are getting charged versus whats realistic.Originally posted by Soldier415I am naked except for seatless white chaps, a boonie hat and a tactical vest playing HALO.Originally posted by oaklanderI don't like getting my butt kicked, but I would like to have it spanked by some big hairy guys!Originally posted by ohsmilyI wouldn't put "mounting a weasel" past too many people on this forum.Originally posted by hoffmangGoing after the NFA soon is like asking the girl you just met in the bar if she's into anal sex...

Your right, your DROS is valid for 30 days, but it does not say that storage fees cannot be accrued after the legal pick up day. Kinda sucks they charge for storage, but if the writing is on the wall then why bother to argue with them over it, especially if someone chooses to do business with them. Their store their rules. Personally I can't wait past 10 days, 14 would be torture.Comment

I used to wait, due to military obligations, or whatever. But still, as stated before, they cant charge for storage while its still in the DROS period. Added this shop to my Do Not Shop Here list, and its associated accounts added to ignore list. (which is a shame, since its only recently that Ive had to start doing this, it never used to be this way around here.)Last edited by Stormfeather; 11-21-2011, 11:33 PM.Originally posted by Soldier415I am naked except for seatless white chaps, a boonie hat and a tactical vest playing HALO.Originally posted by oaklanderI don't like getting my butt kicked, but I would like to have it spanked by some big hairy guys!Originally posted by ohsmilyI wouldn't put "mounting a weasel" past too many people on this forum.Originally posted by hoffmangGoing after the NFA soon is like asking the girl you just met in the bar if she's into anal sex...
