Cheap safes?

Not a problem......that's the beauty of it. You're bolting it to the floor from INSIDE the safe. So when you need to move it...you can unbolt it from inside the safe. But no one can get to the bolt heads cept someone who has your safe combo.

A cheap safe is better then no safe. Costco has some good ones around where I live.

Please bolt your safe to the floor or the wall. The cheaper safes don't weigh as much so they are easier to steal and might fall on you in an earthquake if it isn't bolted down.

Also since you are new, don't put more then a few rounds of ammo in your safe. A sealed metal box + high pressure powder + heat (from say a housefire) = fragmentation grenade and that isn't good for first responders.

When a round "cooks off" it's the CASE not the bullet that becomes the projectile. And certainly NOT enough energy to pierce steel.
