The guard sure was lucky. The suspect could have went in and lit him up before he can even touch his holster

Security guard shoots robbery suspect

This. Why was the guard sitting next to and with his back to the door? He could have been dead on entry if the invaders had known he was there.Comment

It looked like the BG was halfway out the door(and his back was turned) before he got shot. If it was this great country of Kalifornia the security guard would have gotten in big trouble. In the heat of the moment you can't really tell if the BG is going to turn around and shoot back I guess

A quirk in Florida law allows people to gamble at these places once they pay for internet access.
Btw this thread is a dupe...Comment

Yeah, check the first 5 sec when then came-in. First (dead) robber already pointing a gun on guards head. When the guard back away and put his hand to the holster, Both robber didn't take the shot while their aim was still on the guard (scared maybe). When the second robber saw the unholstered gun, he flee right away leaving his partner inside. lolWOW, intense situation
yes that guard is lucky but most people that commit those types of crimes are cowards - robber had the gun right in the guards face and didn't do jack ****
Guard did a great job putting his safety on the line for the sake of those patrons in the cafe...
we need more like him - keep those thugs thinking twice about pulling dumb **** like this again.
And base on the video's audio, the shot came first on the first (dead guy) robber. Then the guard shot back when the suspect leaving on the door.01010100 01101000 01100001 01101110 01101011 00100000 01011001 01101111 01110101 00100000

You guys are assuming way too much. There are plenty of cases where things are like here not completely clear cut, and the shooter is not prosecuted. It really is up to the DA.Yeah, and you need a pretty good lawyer to fight those charges as well. One of the main reasons I'm getting my butt out of California after I graduate. I don't believe its right you could get punished for defending yourself and others from harm in a situation such as the the OP posted.
It's ridiculous to automatically assume that in California, you will systematically be prosecuted if things are not clear cut. I know of several cases where a homeowner shoot someone dead fleeing out of his house and didn't get prosecuted.
Stop caricaturing California justice that way. It's not based on any reality.WTB: French & Finnish firearms. WTS: raw honey, tumbled .45 ACP brass, stupid cat.Comment

I agree and it could be that the security guard saw the man outside aiming in the business. The dirt bag had a record and I bet the security guard gets a verbal warning behind closed doors and no charges are filed against him.
The Sheriff probably congratulated the guard and said thanks for doing the job we would have done months or years later with that person.
In CA, felons skate and the good guys go to court. Go fingure.Comment

Good. People that prey upon unarmed civilians are the scum of the earth.
Much happier that my taxes won't be used to give 5 years of free room and board to this scum.Comment
