Why does an Internet cafe have a security guard?

WOW, intense situation

yes that guard is lucky but most people that commit those types of crimes are cowards - robber had the gun right in the guards face and didn't do jack **** because he was pissing his pants, not expecting someone to stand up to their bull****.
Guard did a great job putting his safety on the line for the sake of those patrons in the cafe...

we need more like him - keep those thugs thinking twice about pulling dumb **** like this again.

In this State, security guard goes to jail. Once they are exiting, they no longer present an immediate threat.

Doesn't take long for the bad guy to spin around and shoot at you one more time while exiting the door. Plus, who's to say he was not leaving, rather just seeking cover to continue the crime?

Why does an Internet cafe have a security guard?

Because they tend to be open odd hours and cause rivalry between kids and gangs who want to play LAN games. There's been a few deaths in OC that started inside net cafes.

Inside away from the door, imo. Outside doesn't do much when they don't use their guns until they're inside... Or if they see you outside and just shoot you first.

The element of surprise is a nice thing, even if you're wearing a uniform and a gun.

Yes...oddly the fire was "returned" due to the security guard firing out of the building...lol

So at that point, who is firing in self defense?

Don't get me wrong, I personally believe it was a righteous shoot. But in this lovely State, we have to apply uncommon sense to common sense situations. The fact the BG was shot in the back could lead to a homicide charge.

Yeah, and you need a pretty good lawyer to fight those charges as well. One of the main reasons I'm getting my butt out of California after I graduate. I don't believe its right you could get punished for defending yourself and others from harm in a situation such as the the OP posted.
