Should've just called it the Bayonet forum!
Alot isn't a word and allot isn't the word you think it is.

I'd really like a Colt 1903 frame, bad finish okay!
I'm also looking for a good deal on a 1911 frame or two for budget/spare parts builds.

Sorry to be edgy, but did your post have a point, or are you just saber rattling?

Yeah, I kinda wish it were back, too. I like knives like I like guns. Let's make this a knife thread...

Just because you asked, my current favorite folder is a left handed Strider SnG.

                    Nice puns

The ONLY folder I own is this:

S&W Homeland Security (hey its S&W, thats technically on topic)

I use one of these for daily:

Randall King Dez Enforcer...mean pig sticker.. .$140.00 delivered (I got it as a gift tho)

And this is my 2nd daily:

Ken Hammond ABC (from CRKT) Ive had one for over a year, solid knife for the $$$

And this is my back-up (yah that makes 4 total... hey 1 is none, 2 is 1 right..)

Carson Neck Knife (also from CRKT)

So what do you guys carry, and HOW do you carry them??

I keep the S&W in my pocket, clip showing, the ABC and the Dez are in their pull out sheaths on the belt (one left, one right) and the Carson is on a neck chain (unconcealed of course)

Post em if you got em

Knife guy here, too. I like to collect them and make them.

Here are my favorite two at the moment.

Top: Strider AR in Coyote Brown

Bottom: Small knife I made called the Leaf (just because it looks kinda like a Leaf). I use and abuse it for everything and it's still shaving sharp.

That is waay cool! I bought a book on knifemaking, but haven't quite gotten all the materials yet. May I ask what you used to make yours? I'd love something that can handle some serious use, but still keep an edge.

These days, I either carry a Camillus

                        Or a Ka-Bar.

Little fruity bank manager where I've been banking for six years now, doesn't like the Ka-bar, so I'll make sure to wear it there from now on. WHAT is wrong with people and even KNIVES these days???? Aah, who cares? I can't wait to make my first one

Thanks. I made that one out of ATS-34 stainless using stock removal and hollow grinding. I haven't had the time to learn how to forge yet, but it's on the "some day" list.

You can make a high-quality blade out of any number of steels. If you're just starting out, I'd recommend picking up some 1/8" 1095 high carbon. It's very easy to work, and is fairly forgiving as far as heat-treating, which you can do with a MAP torch and an old ammo can full of a fairly viscous (nonflammable) oil. A properly heat-treated 1095 high-carbon blade will last a long time.

I can recommend you a couple of reference books. PM me if you're interested.

                          Cheers!

I carry a CRKT m16-14m with the clip exposed. The blade is short enough to legally be concealed, and the other night I had it "concealed" in my pocket because I was sleeping at my buddy's house - I was mistakenly searched by a LEO (they thought I was someone else), and I informed him that I was carrying it. He had no problem with it and gave it back to me when we cleared the situation up. Thought that was nice of him to be aware of the laws.

I live in LA so I only carry folders. Open carry of a Mag Lite is an issue here.

I've been slowly upgrading my knife collection as my knowledge increases.

My first upgrade was from a Kershaw Blur to a Kershaw Spec Bump in S30v

But I then went Benchmade and LOVE my Rukus... the Axis Lock is far better than anything Kershaw puts out, IMHO

What should be my next upgrade?
