Where are all the shootouts in the parking lots of police stations between cops?

That's different. Police are better trained than you and I, and have been through so much vetting that only the cream of the crop of humanity are cops. Geez, don't you know anything ?

May I point out that the CoC are [generally] a historically right-leaning construct? Business interest Republicans != libertarian.

Not if you don't bring a child to work with you. RKBA is a fundamental right. Saying that you have to leave the child seat at home is on the exact same lines as saying you have to leave the gun at home. You may need to pick your child up a daycare on the way home from work, but why is that any concern of the employer? You also may have to defend your life on the way home from work, so how is that any different?

                  Funny thing.

I was in talking to my XO one day. Kind of venting on a laundry list of crap that was being challenging.

Then when I finished I cheered up and said "Well on the bright side of things, I finally got my 300 winmag to the range this weekend and was able to get it all dialed in!! I can shoot a quarter at 300 yards!! (not that I really could, just a figure of speech you know), that gun is Schweet!!!"

My XO looks as me and says "your happy working here right?" I said "yeah why?" he said "nothing, just making sure you are happy here"

I said "yep, love my job!!" he said "great!!" and I walked out..

Then I thought about it and wondered if he was concerned lol..

By the way, in regards to the original topic. I hate crap like this.

Ok, ban people from bringing guns to work.

so a guy snaps. he doesn’t have his gun in his car so he drives home, gets it, comes back and then shoots everyone because no law abiding, not over the edge citizen has no way to protect themselves or anyone else.

These laws are SOOOO fricken stupid it kills me. When are people going to realize that if someone wants to do something bad, they are going to do it. laws don’t matter and laws are only a minor inconvenience to someone who is intending on doing something illegal.

it is the people who have their wits about them and have not gone over the edge that are crippled by these stupid laws.

                    ARGGGGHHHHH

It's a wonderful feeling to see sketchy employees let go and wonder if in six months when everyone has forgotten they decide to come back and get revenge.

It's very rare, but you realize that there is nothing that can stop them because of these idiot laws.

A lot of people seem to have a problem with the idea that a car is private property too. That doesn't change just because it's mobile. As a practical matter I wouldn't say anything about having a gun in my car (or in my pocket for that matter) but it is nobodys' damned business but mine.

I drove through Phoenix recently on the way to Tuscon and the carnage was terrible. Dead bodies rotting in the streets and the few living I saw were shuffling about in a daze. And the children! Gods, it was horrible! The emaciated limbs and bloated bellies. Girls no more than ten or twelve offering to prostitute themselves for a meal. It was ghastly.

Be careful bringing a gun to work.... most people give up there right when they are first hired by there employer, by signing documents that give up their right to searches while being paid by said company or on a company property. Please read the fine print of what you are signing.

I would argue that having a gun in the parking lot probably saved lives in the given example. If he were forced to go home to retrieve his weapon he almost certainly would have picked a more "suitable" weapon for the job he had in mind. Even if he didn't choose a different weapon he would have had considerably more time to check his weapon and fill any additional magazines etc.

If he weren't allowed to have the gun in his car most the attack would have been committed with a fun that wouldn't have jammed and most likely with one that would dui more damage and/or have more ammunition at hand.

*smartphone auto-correct sure can be entertaining.
