    CCW Questions.

    Why do you have one?
I understand some people do it to preserve there rights to care a concealed weapon. But do people have other reasons to carry it? And where and why do they carry a gun there?

This question is for civilians only, not UCs or guards.

I don't need no stinkin' CCW!

But then I live in Arizona....
There is no such thing as a dangerous weapon, there are only dangerous people.

Undercover Cops or bodyguards, basically people who carry concealed weapons because of their jobs

well, duh. No disrespect, but do you really hang out/work at the areas that have that much of crime activity?

I live in a pretty nice area of town. I heard of a story a few months ago that a road rage incident ended with the rage-ridden driver and his "buddies" following the driver to his house (a neighborhood down the road from mines) and unloaded at him and his house. Luckily he never got shot....

Point is...you don't have to be in a bad area to encounter a bad situation. It is always better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

Are you able to predict when you might need to defend yourself?

Rhetorical - of course you are not.

Some people choose to be prepared for many things. A concealed handgun is a reasonable precaution for some risks, just as a spare tire is useful for some things, and fire extinguishers are useful for some other things.

That's okay... no disrespect taken. The City of Ukiah is a small town... and compared to bigger cities and towns both near and far... fortunately we have a low crime rate... that is true.

However, the Mendocino County Sheriff Dept, per the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors --> (don't ask me what I think of them!) had to cut like 25+ Sheriff Deputies... and the Deputies that are still on the roster are stifled to Office duty and respond ONLY to emergency calls. I say... even break-in reports are taken OVER THE PHONE. I know these things to be true... first hand.

Ukiah and Mendocino County is NOT without crime and psycho nut cases and drug induced whacko's that have no regard for you, me, and/or anyone else!

Above all this known reasoning..., I always thought we are to expect the unexpected... and to prepare, God forbid, for such an event. Are we so at ease anywhere that we can simply expect Law Enforcement to 'save' us in the event of an attack...? No... of course not, we all know better than that.

I wear my carry piece every day. And you know what... I been doing that for eight (8) years now and I DO NOT even know I have it on. It's like I wear a watch... it's just there. Like my comb... like my wallet... always there... but I don't reach for it until I NEED it!

                            Well, that makes sense.

I guess I was confused because of some people take their guns to malls and golf course. That's just idiotic.
