I went in there when Clinton was President once. Two ATF guys were there. I was buying a gun and the guy asked me for ID. I said, "Here's my occupation government ID card". One of the ATF guys looked at me like he wanted to kill me! LOL!!!!

OK, so lets ask a different question - what are the gun stores in San Diego county?

Ones that I know of and have been to:

      So Cal Guns
      Turners on Clairemont Mesa
So Calif Police Equipment (El Cajon Blvd)
      King Pawn (El Cajon Blvd)
      American Shooting Center (Ruffin)
      Iron Sights (Oceanside?)
      Discount Gun Mart (Morena )

      How about a full list?

There's another Turners in San Marcos.
        Precision Arms in Escondido.
        Parallax Tactical in Sorrento Valley.
JD also sells OLL's out of their factory down by the airport.

There's more too, that's just what comes to me right off the top of my head.

Cal Customs up in Fallbrook. Little mom and pop store, but they have a decent enough selection. Dave is a retired USMC armorer who does a lot of work for the local PDs.

The place in Poway is at Pomarado and Poway Rd. On Pomarado, across the street from the Dolllar Store and south of the ReMax building. A small "professionals" type building.

They were willing to sell me a 30 rd magazine for the 10/22 saying the 10 rd rule doesn't apply to rimfire.

Tried to set him straight, now I just wait for a 50-man ATF/Swat team (with 25 sheriff's deputies and two sniper equipped helocopters providing back-up) to raid the one-man store.
