    So Cal Guns going under?

I went into So Cal Guns the other day, and it seriously looks like they are swirling in the bowl. Not a lot of stock, not a lot of ammo, not a lot of customers. Plenty of sales staff sitting around doing nothing. Admittedly their sales staff has improved over the past few years, but their prices still suck. According to one of them, they weren't ordering a lot of new guns right now because of economics. Has anybody heard anything definate? I mean, truthfully, I am amazed that they have hung on this long with their bad pricing and competition from the internet. But now that all of the Obama scares are over, I don't see them continuing to be a going concern for much longer.

I didn't know there was a store called So Cal Guns.
I thought the title was: So, Calguns going under.

I don't know anything about this store, but that statement there is a bunch of BS. They aren't going to make sales if they don't order any stock. Sounds like the owner told the employees that instead of saying that they just don't have the money to order anything. Sounds like 6 months to live IMO.

It's like the jackwagons at El Cajon Gun.....with they stupid signs saying they can't order guns....I think its a story.....I've never had a single problem at SoCal guns....done a few transfers and bought a few things for what I thought was a fair price.....and it seems like the last 2 or 3 times I went in there, they were pretty busy. I've never had to wait to be asked if I need help.....

There are so many good deals online and finding the item that you want only takes a few keyboard strokes. Contrast that with taking the time to drive to a gun store that may or may not have what you are seeking. Unfortunately, I think gun stores are becoming antiquated.

Everything looked ok to me. When I went shopping for a shotgun they had the largest selection in town. I couldn't find one clean A-5 in town and they had a hand full to choose from.

They need then to create a website and join the 21st Century.
It's not THAT much to get a host and create a secured shopping URL.

I'm amazed how many independent stores that still don't have websites.
I've never heard of them either.

Good riddance. There are many better new stores in the SD area right now (Parallax, Poway Weapons & Gear, Glock store...), I won't miss SoCal one bit!

They have one but it's lame. Most of the links are broken. In fact, the website is useful only if needing their address and phone number.

I bought my first gun there, the sales guy was super cool. But the rest of the guys they are just ok. With stores and prices like parallax its hard to find a good reason to go there. They were real good at having a nice used section but it was sometimes cheaper to buy new.

I stopped going there when i started to build my ar a few of the guys their kept telling me to buy parts on line Then I found parallax
                          Browning Buckmark, Beretta M9, XD 45, Ruger 10/22, M1 Carbine, AR 15, 1100, Benelli M2....

                            Here's their web site:

Its pretty minimal, and every single link off the page is broken.

I have bought several guns there and they have been very helpful in the past. Fair prices, no complaints.

They really should get the web site up to date. in present form its 100% useless.
