...I was thinking the same thing, when they showed before the final challenge "Chris Reed" Shotgun Champion 2009...Jaime was set up! They chose the shotgun to fit Chris' strength. I call BS
jeez...
Still like the show but that was kinda obvious

From what we've all seen on Season 1 and Season 2, the competitors don't know what the weapon (not necessarily firearm) will be in the elimination challenge. I.E., Season 1 shooting a slingshot or shooting a shotgun. This season we saw the Tommy Gun during the elimination which wasn't used in the team challenge. I'm sure there are other examples.sigpic

As a late bloomer to this thread I got to laugh. I actually like the program and DVR every episode. But I have to simply add that every one of these contestants has to have some douche qualities to even make the cut. Casting would not choose any of these guys without there being at least a remote chance that they would go bi-polar on someone.
I think a couple of these guys are in fact proving themselves to be stand up characters, which is probably a big disappointment to producers."Cum catapultae proscriptae erunt tum soli proscripti catapultas habebunt."

Jamie himself said that he would rather go up against Chris in a pistol challenge rather than going up against Joe or Gunny. But as I soon as I saw that shotguns were going to be used, I knew Jamie's luck had run out.
At any rate, good showing, Jamie. You hung in there for as long as you could, even though everyone tried to get rid of you. You definitely represented So Cal well.Comment

At this point all I really care about is that George doesn't win.
I guess I should root for Gunny or Chris as they are the least lame in their "vote based on who we like, not how they shot". Its TOP SHOT, not TOP BUDDY.....
I hate that they voted right up to the finale. Once in individual competition it should be two lower go to elimination period. Or maybe even do a cumulative points thing like Formula 1.
Each week of individual competition you get say 6 pts for first and on down. Lowest two point totals go to elimination and the points carry over to the next week. The voting thing works great when its teams. Its lame in individual segment.
But they probably won't change because it has to follow the "forumla".Comment

Good showing Jamie, you got screwed. And so did Jay. All the sudden the shotgun comes out of nowhere?? Give me a break.
The teamup gangup crap ruined it for me this season, the producers are idiots. As far as im concerned its a slap in the face for the shooting community. Any pro shooter would have to be off their rocker to want to do this after watching season 2. The competition definitely needs shooting skills but they are so random, way to much luck is involved. Then the politics insures its not about the best shooter. I liked it much better last time where they eliminated the guys in runoff competitions one at a time. Screw that voting BS
Also disappointed that they show the SKS, PSL, and M44 in the intro but no-show in the episodes, i wanted to see some combloc surplus. (maybe in the last show, we'll see)

This show is a "Survivor" clone. They want the cheap drama of social backstabbing, petty drama and cats hissing with their claws extended.
Thats not to say that there aren't some good shooters going the distance, but the "Vote you to elimination challenge" stuff is designed for social drama.
If you aren't aware of it the host of this show is a former competitor in Survivor."Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." - Benjamin Franklin

I have been in competitive shooting since the mid 1970's and the one thing that I enjoyed about this sport is that your competitiors will assist and help fellow competitors. This show does not exhibit what shooting is truly about. Another issue I have is the bizarre circumstances of some of the shooting events. What is the point of shooting a pistol while being lowered from a crane, or shooting from unstable and moving platforms, or shooting an arrow through a bent tube? That is not marksmanship, it is cheap showmanship.sigpicComment

That... and he acts like a TV-Marine.
I've only met one Marine in real life who acted like that, and we had a very "interesting" discussion after he hurt my daughter.
Needless to say, he was all bark and no bite or I wouldn't be sitting here today.- Rich
