Yeah, time to start getting together your maintenance kit and range kit. Cleaning rod, some solvents, oil/grease, brushes, patches, and LOTS of Q-tips.

To save money on targets, you can print your own out as well provided your local range lets you use your own targets.

Oh, time to start buying LOTS of ammo as well. Do it before Feb 1st if you aren't reloading, as it will become difficult but not impossible to find ammo for your G19 online. Gander Mountain has a deal on Remington UMC right now with a $20 off of $100 coupon and free shipping. Buy two boxes of the value packs of 9mm. Check RetailMeNot for the coupon code.

I saw a Hoppy 9 kit for sale at the store. It looked like a fairly complete starter kit so I'm going to pick that up.

As for ammo, I'll need to definitely start buying some like you said. I'm aware of the changes taking place Feb 1. I'll check out the sites you recommended.

Thanks again for the all the help. You've been a great resource!

iAreConfuse - I'm on Gander's site right now.. great resource.. Am I going to be a bit crazy to buy 4 boxes of value (1000 pieces in total)? I'm trying to gauge how much 'savings' i'm getting from online vs instore pricing.. plus I'm sure I'm going to be a bit trigger happy with my new glock.. plus it can't hurt to have more right?

Just called RCGE and they said $10.99 for a box of 50. So with tax, that's $0.24/round.. online, it comes out to about $0.22/round.. Doesn't seem like a huge difference? Another store also had 500 rounds for $125 before tax.. so about $0.27/round. I imagined online would have a bigger difference?

I decided to buy 4x250 boxes at Gander. Put in 2 separate orders to get the $20 off twice. $200 for 1000 bullets.. pretty good.

Since nobody seems to be sure what .22lr's status will be with the new law, and since you have a few days before most places are cutting off sales (20th, 21st), you might want to go ahead and pick up some .22 as well if you're still thinking about getting one at some point. CCI Mini-Mags which are what are usually recommended for .22 conversions is running about $32 for 500 http://www.ammunitiontogo.com/produc...mo-solid-point

If you can afford it, pick up 5K rounds, it's actually not that big of a box.

Great choice! G19 is an excellent example of a "classic".

Skip the .22 and rent one from the range for the first few times. After the 3rd time, decide if you still want a .22 to own. .22 is great from rifles as well. A Marlin 795 can be had for around $130 or less if you find a good deal.
