Ok, well is money an issue? Because you can build an AR for about $400 to $4,000.

Ya money is definitely an issue right now. I'm willing to part with 5-600. And even that would be piece by piece over time.

Do you want to go with an 80% build or an actual receiver?

I build my AR with a Plum Crazy lower and a Stag 3H upper for $650 out the door.

Search JSE and DTI for that price range. It's not top notch but it will meet your budget. Wanna see what they look like, check the picture thread. Lots of pictures in all types of configuration for you to see and learn.

Well I'm still learning about them and just what specs I want. What would you suggest? Do you like your setup? Are there things you might have done differently?

Well for me, mine is only for plinking. For those purposes I absolutely love it. But for your purposes I'm not sure. If you want to call me you can, just send me a PM and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Here's a great bargain. Within your budget and it's a gas piston upper.

We also have literally HUNDREDS of pages with nothing but pictures of different setups, you should spend a couple days and look through them. We also have a AR-15 Gallery where members not only show pictures, but give an itemized description to help future Calgunners in the event they see something they like.

The good is that you can buy AR's piece by piece and take you're time.

Look at Bravo Company for stripped uppers, they start at around $400, and go up from there.

Stripped lowers are around $100, parts kit $65.

You still need buttstock, bolt, handguard, and charging handle, & a rear sight, mags, & ammo.

Take you're time and look around. Stag, Rock River, LMT, are also good.

                              Good luck
