This means YOU had to have owned them before, not that you're buying ones that were made before. They can also only be used on FEATURELESS rifles.

As above and put simply, the dealer was convincing you to commit a felony.

There is no brass pass for creating an AW by hanging >10 round mags on a featured but mag locked OLL. Guys in the business who say there is are whistling past the graveyard of their own careers. One pissy, anti-gun sergeant or lieutenant who knows how to read finds out and those guys will be done, pronto.

If you are a LEO with statutory authority to carry firearms, ask your department head for a letter and, if they provide the letter, buy and register a featured rifle that needs no maglock and won't make you a felon if you grab the wrong mags.

Not a lawyer, just a former LEO proud to have served.

Consult the flow chart... it must be completely featureless (no pistol grip, no collapsible stock, no flash hider, etc.) and you have to have personally owned those magazines.

speaking as a former police officer, you should really read up on all the ignorant laws and understand them.

To the thread crappers. There is a difference between an RO informing people of the law and calling the cops and having them come arrest people. Personally, I see nothing wrong with ROs informing their customers of legalities when the customer is violating the law. Of course, if you enjoy felony possession without anyone bothering you, you could always choose another range to go to.

This is excellent material covering the 30rds, but what if a person wants to use 10rd mags with a featureless rifle running a MMG?

A featureless rifle can be used with any size legally owned or legally borrowed detachable mag and no magazine lock. Including 10 round mags.

i would totally run featureless with 10rd mags, if that were all i had. the ease of the finger-operated mag release trumps even the most evil features, in my humble opinion.

So with that rationale, I take it you're saying it's okay to "snitch" someone off??? Let's face it, CA guns laws suck. If I saw someone with an "unregistered" black rifle, I wouldn't give a crap! I'd say, have fun, but watch your back! There are SNITCHES everywhere!!!!! I could care less that he/she is excercising a freedom and "former right" we Californians ONCE enjoyed a few years ago!
Word. We need to stick together. Snitches get STITCHES.
