      there's always Duracaot, Cerakote, and all the other paints and coatings that can be applied. Although that only covers the slide and other external bits. Regular cleaning of salty parts would be a good idea... oh yeah, and good for the gun as well.

          I would consider a gun that is known for resistance to corrosion and also known to retain superior reliability when full of debris.

          Even with a gun known for superior reliability, there is no substitute for extra care of a carry weapon. Your life is worth a few minutes a week.

            Have you considered open carry? Seems like that would be much easier than trying to conceal if you're out jogging. (not that you shouldn't have a CCW as well, due to the school zone nonsense)

              I'd be looking at something that has a finish that will last and can take harsh environments. Glock, Sig, and HK are the first that come to mind.

                You could vacuum seal it in some thin heat shrink film.

                It should disintegrate enough on firing to allow the action to cycle.
