So went out to the woods and DFG saw and took my AR. Said it was a assault rifle and I explained to them it's a 10/10rd mag and bullet button for non-detachable mag. They ignored it it tool them a while to come up with a reason to take it. So today, I'm going to fight it. Anyone has any info to help, link it up soon I can print it and show em bastards!

Without giving too many details, where in CA did this happen so the rest of the hunters on Calguns can be aware?

Serves as a warning to the rest of us -

ALWAYS have a flowchart and LEO training bulletins printed out and ready to share.

I keep one set in my gun case - One redundant set in each vehicle - And even another set on my person whenever I am taking my rifle out of my house.

I will tell you what you need to do. Just do it because your going to have to do it anyways. When law enforcement takes a firearm you have to submit paper work to the DOJ it could take 2 months to get back. Once you get the paper work back it will have a golden seal stamped on it. Saying your approved. Get the paper work get some sort of report # because you need it put the model of the ar what ever it is Stag - 15 if it is approved you can kinda fight them with it. I would contact a lawyer because they will not just give you your gun back. I had a AR taken for me few years ago and got it back . If you have been charged for them taking the firearm or have a pending charge you will not get the gun back with out a lawyer fighting it in court.

DFG saw a rifle, thought it might be an AW, and investigated.

If it took them a while, then they found something(?), and confiscated.

Check the flow chart, go over it carefully, make sure you were legal. Double check it again, and write it on paper "why" you did not have an AW, point by point by point.

I'm curious about the flowchart. I doubt an LEO who thinks he is in the right is going to care one way or another what some "flow chart" says. If they decide your gun is illegal, it's gone and will take a lawyer to get it back.
