My Terrible Dream (Why we need CCW NOW!!)

I was just awoken by a terrible dream, but one that is not too far fetched from reality, and one that mirrors personal experiances as well as those of thousands of others. Its a dream that makes me realize why we need our right to concealed carry.

    *DREAM in REM STATE*

I am in San Francisco, and assuming from the surroundings somewhere around Cortland ave at Bayshore, or around 3rd street. (not safe area, but currently seeing a girl in that area).

I am on the corner taking pictures with my digital camera of the buildings etc. Out of the corner of my eye i seen two pretty tall thugs (wont say what race, but you can take a wild guess) approaching from across the street. One is tall, wearing glasses and a blue hoody. The other is wearing all red.

As i see them approach, i take one last picture and put the camera in my pocket. Glasses thug immediately smiles and says something like `i seee that!`. I walk across the street to a parking lot trying to avoid them, but they cut me off. As this is happening i see a third, shorter thug shadowing them as well.

The tall thug comes up to me quick, and before i know whats happening, he `pocketchecks` me and grabs my wallet, with money and all my credit cards, etc, and starts running around the corner. As i try to follow him to fight for it back, the second and third thugs cut me off. As i fight the second thug, the third one steals my camera. I am filled with hopelessness and anger at the utter inability for me to do anything, and that there is no help.

I am immediately awoken after this, and breathe a sigh of relief knowing its a dream. HOWEVER, THIS SITUATION IS BY NO MEANS FAR FETCHED, AND PROBABLY HAPPENS ON A REGULAR BASIS. Growing up in San Fran, i have experianced similar situations. (been robbed on the back of the 31 balboa riding through fillmore by 5 young black kids, and had 3 surenos rob me but i fought them back and called the cops and they threw my possessions into the street and ran off)

I went back to sleep and had a `controlled dream`, where instead i was able to CC my glock 27 in .40 cal. The outcome of that dream was much different, with glasses thug lying dead on the pavement with the back of his head blown out. and the two other thugs held at gunpoint until SFPD showed up and takes over the situation. Even though it was a dream, it seemed to scarily real and the adrenaline is still flowing.

With the latest decisions at the supreme court...CONCEALED CARRY CANNOT COME SOON ENOUGH. WE NEED TO TAKE BACK OUR STREETS FROM THESE SCUM.

Ironically, last night i had dream where the SFPD gave me a 1200 parking ticket, and gave me a fully body search because of it. So it just illustrates the utter hopelessness living in the welfare state.

Yea back when i was 17 or 18, i was riding the 38 geary in the outter richmond, a relatively safe area. three surenos (mexican gangbangers who wear the color blue) approached me and my friend. my friend had a tiny bit of red on his shirt, and the surenos started getting in our face. One of them grabbed the necklace on my neck (st christophers gold necklace given to me from my late grandma)....he then yanked it off my neck. i was not about to let those scum steal my grandmas gift...so we fought back 2 on 3. the scraps pulled out and tried to stab me with a pen (thank god it wasnt a knife)....but i had hit the guy many times in the face. we were making a big scene so they started to walk away..but i pulled out my phone and called the cops. they threw my chain into the middle of the intersection and ran off.

back to my story......anyone who has been in a robbery situation knows the utter helplessness of it. its the worse feeeling ever, knowing you cant do anything unless the cops show up.

another time, in golden gate park, i was with 4 of my friends when about 9 black dudes showed up and robbed everyone. luckily they spared me for some reason...but i watched in utter dismay as my friends were one by one punched and robbed for their phones, etc. it made me sick, and i wish i could have dropped all of them with well placed shots.

low life scum operate with utter impunity here in the bay area...they know regular folks are not armed and therefore easy targets.

these CW permits cannot come soon enough!! and with the governer restricting welfare, and Oakland laying off cops, its gonna get worse! they will resort to robbery and home invasion i garuntee it.

My dreams are usually wet. Seriously though, CCW will not happen in CA as long the current laws are in effect.

You're not actually saying you would shoot someone over a wallet and camera, right? You're talking about spending $50,000 to defend yourself in the legal arena if you ever did.

So we should just let them have their way?

yhea i forgot, the welfare babies would love that oppurtunity to sue...because they are so disadvantaged they should be able to rob and steal, and then sue when their suddenly the victims.

              makes me friggin sick.

and yes if someone tries to rob me, im drawing down and letting them know loudly that if they continue i will shoot. if it happens, then they went for a gun in their waistband or tried to put hands on me.

this is what I was thinking

no where in your "dream" did you mention the threat of safety to your or anyone else... simply carrying a CCW is not going to stop people robbing you.
what are you gonna do, pull a gun on them? then what... wait until they walk away or escalate the situation further by bringing their own gun(s) to the fight?

great, now you just killed yourself and perhaps others over $30 in a wallet.
you don't rise to the occasion,
you just fall back on your level of training.

Mendo223, if you live in Mendocino county, go get your CCW.

For the people worrying about shooting criminals, please stay out of the line of fire......like at home behind a locked door.

well in my dream i had alot more cash in my wallet, along with credit cards etc.

its the principal though. watching some thug run off with YOUR possessions....screw that.

besides, i know of a pretty decent lawyer lol.

i know its not gonna stop things from happening, but it will really tip the tides in your favor, plus i doubt they can shoot as good as me. really surprised to see a couple of yall on here saying i should just let them run off with my stuff and become a victim.

i usually stay out of such ****ty areas, but this new girl im seeing lives in that area...usually i never get out of my car though, so the dream situation was kinda far fetched.

It still sounds like your dreaming about shooting someone as they run away.

                            You need help.

look - property is not your life. you might be a good shot at the range but under duress you aint **** - and these guys don't have anything to lose.
just because you're scared of getting robbed is no reason to go around talking about vigilante violence.
there are steps to be taken that are more effective at preventing robberies and don't involve killing people.
among those things are... stay away from that area, or if you MUST go then go with a friend - you are less likely to get attacked if you are not alone.
also, don't wear clothing or items that make you a target. don't carry cash in your wallet - cards are canceled, you'd have your **** back together in about a week.

let me play out your dream if you had a CCW:

"I am in San Francisco, and assuming from the surroundings somewhere around Cortland ave at Bayshore, or around 3rd street. (not safe area, but currently seeing a girl in that area).

As i try to follow him to fight for it back, the second and third thugs cut me off. I immediately grab for my concealed weapon, which is in a conceal carry holster on my belt... but he's grabbing at my arms and punching me if the face... I am defenseless as BOTH my hands are grabbing for a gun that I know still needs to be racked and brought up to fire. As i fight the second thug, the third one come up behind me, takes a hell of a swing at the back of my head, knocking me to the ground where I am bleeding... my ears are ringing, my vision is blurry but I am finally able to draw my weapon. The thugs pick up my dropped camera and begin to run away. I am filled with hopelessness and anger and bring my weapon up to fire... vision still blurred and my ears are POUNDING... my heart feels like it's going to explode from adrenaline. I fire 5 shots (what turns out later to actually be 8 shots) two of which strike the intended target in the back... one in the left leg and the other in the lungs. I slowly get up - I can hear sirens... I walk to the thug and he has already soaked the street in his blood. I can hear him choking in his own blood, a moment I will remember forever every time I close my eyes.

During the trial the feelings of hopelessness and anger grow - as I am convicted of manslaughter and will spend the next 4 years of my life behind bars, and never again having the ability to even touch a firearm. Each night I sleep on my tiny cell mattress, I lie awake in fear that in that 4 year term, one of the thugs that robbed me will inevitably end up here and remember me... at which time my girlfriend will have forgotten about me as each of us seek the comfort of other men.

I am immediately awoken after this, and breathe a sigh of relief knowing its a dream.
