I go to the Sportsman's warehouse in Rocklin quite a bit. The shelves were looking pretty bare the last time I was there, and there was a bunch of stuff on clearance.
Sportsman's Warehouse has been having some problems for awhile now. They filed bankruptcy quite awhiles ago. Pretty sure they've reorganized and come out of it - but in the meantime the product supply seems to have gotten sketchy for them.

      Right now they're selling TRP's for $1390 and Remington 870 7+1 for $329.

Have you been to Bass Pro shops in Mantica? I think its about an hour from Sac and is huge.

No I haven't, I should check them out. Good selection? How are their prices for guns and ammo?

oh - one other point to make... not sure how many people realize this.

If you're planning on making a trip to Reno for something specific - especially ammo - check the website. You can order through the website, and use 'in store pickup' as your shipping option. It's free, and it pretty much guarantees you'll have what you're looking for waiting when you get there. With some items it's not that big a deal - but with something harder to come by like .45 ammo - it can save you some time/headache of going out there and finding they're sold out...
