"No Sales To CA?"

I am a daily shopper on Gunbroker and AuctionArms. Because my interest in specific C&R guns is so narrow I may watch for several years for a specific gun to be offered.
When a gun comes up that I want, but the seller says no sales to California, I write to him and ask why. I then explain: A) C&R long-guns are exempt from all the BS. B) The regulations only apply to transfers between two 001 FFLs, not private citizens and not 003 FFLs.
About 1 in 3 times I am able to convince the seller to allow me to bid. I win a few and lose a few, but now that seller is more educated.

One of the points that someone else pointed out is that the so-called "all the BS" doesn't amount to a hill of beans from a sales/work/effort standpoint. While all efforts at gun control are lamentable, the added California requirements aren't keeping anyone up late at night.

The only time I was seriously interested in buying a pistol on GB, I called the guy, said I'd help, and that since two FFL's were involved, there would be no problem. Guess what? I now own the gun!

As to the "AXE GRINDERS" - one of the more hardcore anti-CA sellers had this "I'm pro-2A, you are not" type of crap. I emailed him several times, and eventually he admitted he didn't understand the laws and eventually said - "hey - you're alright".

Hell - I could have told thim that!!!

Point is, most are ignorant of the law, and it IS complicated. But we aren't sheep and should try the nice approach first.

It's not complicated. We have already had some wonderful postings that explain just how simple the process is -- and it's very simple and fast.

Yeah it's simply a matter of a one-time enrollment (over the Internet) where you enter your FFL info. Then every time you receive an FFL from a CA dealer you enter their FFL info on a web page to verify it's a legit license. It gives you an approval number (just like when you buy anything online) for the "transaction" and you simply jot it down on your paperwork. No muss no fuss.
