If Bren Tens were still being made, I would get another, but that being said the Glock 20 is my second choice.Comment

I've got a bren 10 and unless they made major changes to the steel i would not buy another
which is why i lean towards the vltor same basic design just updated. i would really like to read some reviews on it though once they come out"The only defense against violent evil people are good people who are more skilled at violence"

Last I heard they had been bought out and were going to start being made again.Comment

Is that a good idea? Wouldn't the round not be not be headspacing on the shoulder correctly since it is shorter? Or do you have a .40 SW barrel in it?Was at the range today instructing the other officers during a practice session... had time for 15 rds out of my glock 20... shot 40sw through it as usual... like the BVAC hp round too... but the 40 is cheaper... definitely love my glock 20... took my duty weapon off an stashed it in the car and put that 20 in my TT Gunleather IWB and went to the gun shop to do some business... it don't get better than that... range/shoot/gunshop/Thai food for dinner...
Or am I wrong entirely. It seems like if you were shooting .40SW through a 10mm barrel then the round would be resting against the extractor.....sigpic

Sorry, but you are absolutely "misinformed" on ALL (3) counts. !. What about Wilson Combat? EAA? S&W? Kimber? (there's about 4 other manufacturers who are offering this chambering now, too, but I can't remember them right this moment) 2. My Delta only cost me about $300 more than my G20 (or my G-29, take your pick). 3. 5,000 rounds down my Colt's pipe without hiccup ONE so far (and I've used my own UNDERPOWERED *practice* loads; my own "cannon" load - which has a Hornady XTP 200grain going OVER 1300 fps-; all the way up to the HOTTEST 200 to 230 grain DoubleTap lead/FMJ/JHP loads. Please don't use your opinion as advice, especially since your knowledge on this subject appears to be extremely limited. Not trying to be a jerk, but I just call it as I see it. And, I don't think it's fair to give bad advice to someone who wants to get into something new, ESPECIALLY when it comes to firearms.
The new ones (the 2009 re-issue) have the correct "double" spring setup in it. Much better than the old one. It takes a MUCH stronger hand to chamber a round with the slide only now. No free lunches, remember!Last edited by supersonic; 06-23-2010, 2:33 AM.

I have both the G20 and the Kimber Eclipse....and love them both. I am a 1911 guy at heart, and the Kimber (with a recoil spring upgrade) has proven to be a flawless performer. The G20, on the other hand, is much more affordable, just as accurate, and performs admirably with the LWD 6" barrel and a recoil spring upgrade. Both are great pistols that can easily handle full power loads (just upgrade the recoil spring). Buy the one your bank account will allow.

When I have my BIG, FAT, loaded-to-capacity (+1 in the chamber) G20 in my hand, I just feel more.....'safe?'.....'invincible?'.....'impervious to deadly attack?'..........than I do with any other semi-auto pistol I own (or have held in my hand).

I don't think telling the OP to ask an officer to engage in a straw purchase scheme is the best advice here.go to http://www.defensereview.com/vltor-f...d-45acp/voltor
and find an le to buy it then sell it to you, there are plenty and will actually be sold by BassPro (but not here)Comment
