    Looking to get a 10mm

Hey there, was looking into getting a 10mm pistol, I am kind of leaning toward the Glock 20, but was wondering if anyone had some input on the Glock, or any of the other Manufacturers.

10mm, the newest big daddy when it comes to delivering raw punch in a semi-auto handgun round. I really like my 10mm which so happens to be a G20SF. While I've got sizable hands, the G20 has a monstrous grip so I would definitely recommend trying both the G20 and G20SF before deciding upon one of them.

The 10mm is a great woods pistol and very capable of taking down anything you'll encounter in the lower 48 (grizzlies really being the only questionable although plenty of folks in Alaska carry them for this exact reason).

The only other good choice in 10mm is the Colt Delta Elite which is much more expensive, and dare I say, a bit more prone to failure. If you're a 1911 guy, then it is definitely the way to go. If you're good to go with Glock though, you can't beat the shooting accuracy, comfort (from a formidable round), and aftermarket parts available for it for reasonable prices.

Lastly, the G20 also has a 6" hunting barrel from Glock and Lone Wolf. So if you want that last bit of kinetic energy dump on your target, the G20/SF will surely perform....

As far as ammo is concerned, buy plinking ammo from Georgia Arms in bulk. Buy DoubleTap ammo from MidwayUSA for your full lower FMJs and HPs.

    Hope that helps!

Don't forget the s&w 610 and just load your own ammo.

I have the G20 and above stated is correct. The grip is big. Fits my hand. Funny thing is my wife has confiscated it from me because she can hold it and rack the slide. No she is not a BIG GIRL! She is actually tiny but has long thin fingers. So alas until I get her a Glock in .40 the 10 mm is hers. Looks like I will be getting her that .40 real soon. LOL

Dam. Now I'm tempted to but a G20 too.

Can't get a new Delta Elite in CA, (possibly anywhere - did Colt actually re-release it yet?). IIRC, Kimber and Glock are the only semi-auto 10mm's on "the list". New pistol options are limited, and used even more so, not a lot of people parting with off-list 10's.

Love my Delta Elite. Only thing that sucks is trying to track down the brass. Sucker launches those things.

Don't forget the S&W 1006 series. Built like tanks and accurate. Hard to find in CA but they pop up every now and then. I have the 1006 and a G20SF and love em both.

Ammo is hard to find locally. The upcoming mailorder/internet sales ban in 2011 will make things worse....
