I always have my son shoot to the right of me. That way I don't have to worry about hitting a stranger with my brass.

      shells

Was it guys or girls next to you. You should of told them to hold there handbag up high enough to block the shells. It is part of shooting indoors thats why you wear safety glasses and long sleeves.I would be embarrassed to say anything. You are shooting guns for god sake It might have a few hazards.

Normally flying brass doesn't bother me. It's bond to happen sooner or later. I forgot what gun I was shooting before but it would eject and smack me in the forehead almost everytime LOL

If you hold it sideways like a real gangster it won't do that...

I had an incident when I shooting at a match. The shooter left to me was shooting an M-1A, and his cartridge cases were landing on my head. I just moved slightly off the landing pattern and continued shooting. No biggie.

People at the range that complain about brass are almost as bad as the people that complain about noise. It is a shooting range, not a library!

I dont consider it a big deal. I mean you are at a range right? I pretty much expect at one point and time to have a casing or shell land somewhere on my body. now if someone deliberately cocks their gun in order for the ejected rounds to arc towards the guy on the right that is BS. And yes ive seen people do that simply cause they are watching the arc of the rounds and then shifting as needed to "aim" the spent cases towards the shooter next to them

Anyone who shoots will sooner or later be the sender or receiver of hot brass. If I'm the sender I offer to change shooting lanes with the receiver. If I'm the receiver I time my shooting and breaks around the shooter to my left.

Wear a hat, or adjust yourself accordingly to avoid being brassed.

If the guy's purposefully pelting you with brass, he's an jerkface.

Not a lot to get angry over. My problem is when people start picking at your targets

So next time just give something like "hey my bad, my shells are shooting over on your side, you want to switch places or something?" If you said this to me, I probably would just suck it up, shake your hand, check out your gun and let you shoot more shells at me and laugh it off. But if you continued shooting and acted like you don't give a rat's *** about your neighbors, I might get annoyed
I think this is a pretty good answer.

First time I went shooting, a guy was shooting a Mini 14 and one ejected shell hit my goggles and bounced off. Another couple landed in my hair. The guy didn't seem to care, despite other people having nets to prevent this from happening.

I don't care anymore now, but it's annoying.

You know, it's these black and white answers that are a bit annoying. Don't like the sun? Wear sunscreen - get an umbrella - and then go to the beach.

Same with shooting. Don't like the noise? Double up on earplugs and earmuffs. Don't like getting hit with brass? Move, give the guy a brass catcher, set up a net or barrier, or have a nice chat with the guy. All of this could work.

Life doesn't have to be all or nothing.. there are many shades of grey.
