Started with a BB gun under my dad's supervision when I was 6. Moved to .22 pistol and single shot .22 rifle, again strictly supervised, at the family hunting cabin when I was 10. By 14 I was dove hunting with a single shot .410 and taking small game with that old single shot .22.
Took college (AJ major) firearms courses, went to the academy (won the "top gun" award), in service training as a LEO, regular qualification, outside courses, hunting, informal plinking, some competetive shooting. Now in my early 50's I still can't get enough range time to suit myself.
