True, but if it delays the bad guy long enough for you to

a) call the cops
b) get out your defensive weapon
c) take cover behind the bed / couch

...then those locking devices have served their purpose.

My point was, I've yet to see a hotel in the US that didn't have something better than those built into the door already. The door stop alarm made some sense since even as the door is broken down the door jam continues to provide resistence, but a redundant door latch fails to add security IMO.
