No Linked 308 Ammo in CA?? BS!!!!!!!!!

Wow! I just got the J&G flyer and they had this really cool deal, 250 rounds on a linked belt (rambo style) of .308 POF 147 grain for only 100 bucks! My eyes popped outta my skull and my credit card was whipped out super quick. I always wanted a rambo like belt for novelty purposes.


But i get to the order page and i had to pay an extra ten bucks to "DE LINK" it because i live in commiefornia.

California never fails to surprise me. But lets not discuss whats wrong with Cali, instead, what kinda gun should i buy to use my .308 in HAHA.

Im a big 223 guy love my AR and Mini, but lately i want a bigger caliber so i settled on .308. Im leaning towards an AR.10 or SOCOM II but im still not sure. Any other cool alternatives out there? I want something as compact as possible so 16" is prefered. Im thinking abuot selling my Mini14 to help finance the SOCOM purchase ive been dreaming about...

the FAL is a little too big for my taste. I want something as compact as possible, thats why im really lovin the SOCOM II. its like a modern Garand tacticooled out, i cant stop dreaming about this SOCOM i saw that had a white/grey winter camo rattle can job with the rail and accessories. Me wants!!

well the 250rd belt would be a high cap ammo feeding device, if it was linked in 10rd belts it would be legal

The whole 250 round belt DOES NOT have to be de-linked. To meet legal requirements IT DOES need to be separated into 10 round belts. PC defines a "magazine" as an "ammunition feeding device" so (10 round belt) = (10 round magazine) and can be imported into CA

Also, it is not illegal to posses +10 round belts in Ca. if you legally aquired them. I have several that I've had since the late 80's.

POF? Pakistani ammo? JG is doing you a favor. POF ammo I've always avoided due to the fact its crap.

M1A SOCOMs are a blast, and you can run them as they were designed without mangling them for CA compliance. That II version looks kinda front heavy though with all those rails!

You can also get a 16" barreled FAL, though you'd have to run a Solar Tactical grip wrap on it. Kinda hard to work the safety... (or a maglock)

The SOCOM II is a beast. Its heavy, and anything you add to tacticool it out will just make it heavier. IIRC it weighs something like 10 pounds unloaded. I had one, but after it had a severe failure on my second outing I got rid of it.

It looks badarse though, I'll give you that.

having owned a socom 16 m1a, ar10 dpms, siage 308 and ptr 91.... I would recommend the ptr 91. saiga is best in price and will eat any type of ammo. both the ar10 and socom 16 are too big and heavy. the ptr 91 is just the rigth size and priced rigth too. also, many cheap mag kits available.
