Not all those "trashing" the land are from out of state.

I've heard more than once a native Nevadan defending some rather permanently destructive (and sometimes just ugly) behavior as, "it's Nevada land, I'm a local... I'll do anything I want."

Most of those dirtbikes and ATV's at the back end of Wahoe County were local, last time I was up there tooling about. I watched a couple of local kids chop down a tree that was keeping them from turning around when they got their 4x4 stuck on a bootleg trail -- Nevada plates.

And [getting back on topic] I'll never forget being taken out there for my CCW qualification to a make-shift range off a dirt road north and east of Reno, about 400 yards from a couple of houses -- by a Nevada resident -- and having my pick of leftover targets like applicances, bottles, or spent shotshells.

Bad behavior is bad behavior, and visiting Californians don't have a monopoly on it.

Well, I'm not one of those guys and it doesn't reflect my attitude. It's public land, and I'll continue to use it. It is my backyard playground and I use it frequently. And I keep it clean. It's a shame you think it's Californians doing it all. There's no way anyone from Nevada would ever do that.... No way... not ever.
