well i would say in this situation, with the end result as it is. you did the right thing. the whole 3 strikes law came about over a $20 robbery gone wrong. in that kind of situation you never know what the end result will be until the end has come. you cant shoot somebody in the back and get away with it. but as the perp is leaving. you can say "hey i have some more money". and when he turns around pump 3 into his chest. but thats just a theory.
