LUCC carry: how popular is it?

(For those who don't know, this is on Locked Unloaded Concealed Carry - no permit required, but it's safer than Open Carry because you don't have to worry about school zones, etc)

There have been a number of LUCC threads out there, but I just realized I haven't yet seen a poll on how widespread the practice of LUCC actually is.

Crap, just realized I should've had "I don't, and wouldn't if I felt a need to" option. Unfortunately, I can't edit the poll.

What kind of locks/gun combos are people using?

Can the key be inserted in to the secured lock?

I imagine people are using the trigger locks that go over the trigger guard? Can you post some links to websites on this?

OK I would have a hard enough time concealing a glock 26 in my suit, how the heck are you supposed to do it in a locked container?! POST SOME PICS.

To clarify, the gun must be inside of a completely enclosed, locked case. Just putting a trigger lock on the gun and tossing it in a purse/backpack is a no-go.

I'm looking for a small enough container to fit in my already stuffed workbag, so #3.

something I read said you can put a locked container on your belt, I'm like, RIDICULOUS. In a bag, maybe. my employer has a no guns at work clause - cuz they're worried I might shoot a robber, which would only happen if he was trying to shoot me... but I wouldn't be able to get it out of a container fast enough anyway. One of these days I'll be self employed and do whatever I want!

I saw that OP said LUCC had been discussed previously, so I used my little brain and found a few threads like this about LUCC containers.

anybody with a case like that on their belt - if you're in the know, is CLEARLY packing heat. I have a man satchel already and I like those better than fanny packs. Besides - my xd is too big. I want to get a glock 26 and a maxpedition bag.

Most people who don't know jack about guns don't know why gruff looking dudes wear fanny packs. HA I told some co workers that when you see a non german tourist wearing a fanny chances are he has a gun in there. totally blown away.

Interesting, I just googled LUCC and this thread came up. I do it every day, got a 1911 in a locked container in my backpack that I carry all my equipment in, and the magazines are carried in a separate pocket.

Not easy to pull in an emergency, but still nice to have.

My question though, this fits CA law correct? The firearm is unloaded and in a locked container, magazines are carried outside the container, albeit in the same backpack.

                          What do you guys think?

If I were you, I would be carrying the loaded magazines inside the locked container. That's also legal.

True, but it would be more likely to avoid any "misunderstandings" with LEO's if it's outside the case, yeah? And actually, they way it's situated it's actually easier to load the way it's currently set up. Seems like a win-win.
