      What do you guys think about fences? I think they're a deterrent, but some of the stuff I've read says burglars target homes with fences in the front yard because they can duck down behind them during the day and not be seen when breaking and entering.

                chain link looks cheap to me. Not that I live in a "high rent" neighborhood...quite a few have em round here.

                        I keep a spring loaded knife under the pillow and have many firearms nearby locked up with ammo in magazines. If an intruder is right in the room, I reach for the knife. If anywhere else in the house, its the shotgun or the beloved .45 1911. I pray the sound of racking an 870 remington 12 gauge is enough to make the intruder think twice. Make sure your spouse never draws a weapon they haven't mastered and aren't comfortable using.

                                I hope that site is being monitored. I just glanced through their forums. Its sickening that this kind of filth is out there and scary at the same time. I'll be notifying authorities anyway--best to assume they are not being watched and help put somebody away.
